Capstone Infrastructure Corporation (\xe2\x80\x9cCapstone\xe2\x80\x9d) is an independent power producer focused on providing clean, renewable energy to homes and businesses across North America. Headquartered in Toronto, Ontario and an office in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Capstone currently develops, owns and operates thermal and renewable power generation facilities totalling over 775 MW of installed capacity across 30 facilities in Canada.

Capstone Infrastructure Corporation is seeking a Project Associate, to work with the Development Team in Canada based in Calgary, Alberta. Reporting to the Director, Western Canada Development, the Project Associate will support development activities for wind, solar and battery projects from greenfield or early project phase through to NTP. The ideal candidate will have a background in the renewable energy sector in Canada or the US, ideally with prior experience with land acquisition, environmental assessment, permitting, resource assessment, and renewable technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

Support in day to day project management activities, including:

  • Project budgeting and scheduling
  • Engaging external resources.
  • Support in writing reports and correspondence related to project development and approvals.
Coordinate project development activities, including:
  • Land acquisition
  • Environmental assessments
  • Stakeholder consultation and management
  • Local municipality, county, provincial, and federal permitting
  • Energy assessment
  • Project technical design, infrastructure siting
Support new growth opportunities, including greenfield development and due diligence of prospective acquisitions.

Participate in energy association working groups, and monitor policy and regulatory developments in target markets.

Support the development team with other project tasks as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

As the ideal candidate for this position, you will have the following:
  • University degree or equivalent \xe2\x80\x93 bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s in engineering, environmental science or related undergraduate study, and diploma or degree in GIS.
  • Strong project management skills, highly organized and able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with accuracy and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong MS Project and Office suite skills.
  • Analytical, problem solver with the ability to work independently or in teams, and quickly learn new concepts/processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills. French language is an asset.
  • Proven ability to exercise good judgment in recognizing scope of authority and protecting confidential information.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to travel as required (estimated at up to 10-20%).
  • Valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license
