Overview of the RISK Function:

RISK Americas covers BNPP retail and wholesale banking activities in the Americas. Integrated into the Group-wide RISK Function, RISK Americas supports BNPP\xe2\x80\x99s second largest regional platform worldwide. The main objectives of the RISK team are to advise the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s management on the definition of risk policy; to confirm as a \xe2\x80\x9csecond pair of eyes\xe2\x80\x9d that the risks taken by the Bank comply with its policies; to provide reports to the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s management and alert them to the state of the risks to which the Bank is exposed.

With business risk management teams and more cross-functional risk management practices, RISK Americas covers all types of financial (credit, market, liquidity) and non-financial (model, operations, technology, etc.) risks by anticipating, assessing, monitoring and reporting risks at all levels, from large-scale operations through regional risk to the portfolio. With a presence in the Americas to support the various BNPP Americas activities, the teams are highly collaborative, while being highly integrated into the Group\'s RISK function and stakeholders from several business lines and functions.

About the function of the office of the Head of RISK Operations at BNP Paribas

The mission of the Head of Operations Office team RISK Americas is as follows:

  • Support the implementation, sustainability and continuous improvement of the management of the RISK function of the intermediate holding company/Americas at regional and divisional levels, as regards the evolution of the RISK function\xe2\x80\x99s activities.
  • Supervises the processes of the RISK Function and reports on the activities of the RISK Function, performance and risk analysis.
  • Support the RISK Function in its transformation, automation, processes and governance.
  • Support the design, development and implementation of strategic and tactical operational services to support the RISK function of the intermediate holding company/Americas.
In detail

The position is highly cross functional and multi-disciplinary in nature and will assume various responsibilities within the risk project teams and will also provide administrative support to some member of the Executive Committee. He will be part of a regional team, located in New York and Montreal, and will contribute to the day-to-day business of RISK in terms of processes and projects.

The position will be based in Montreal, where BNPP\'s RISK organization has created a shared services platform with a mandate to provide high quality support and services to the US RISK teams.

He will focus in particular on supporting the development of management capacities to support the region and the platform leader in Montreal.

In addition, it will work closely with the Montreal project teams to ensure the level of coordination on the management of the RISK offices in Montreal.

  • Prepare travel for members of the Executive Committee
  • Assist in the management of the Montreal office, in particular in the support of new recruits
  • Use discretion and independent judgment in handling individual deliverables
  • Provide support to project managers and platform managers
Qualifications

  • First cycle diploma
  • From 0 to 3 years or more (including placements) of work experience, on project management topics and team administrative support expertise
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both oral and written
  • High level of detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to perform several tasks at a time and to work together in a team
  • Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • High intellectual curiosity and motivation
  • Knowledge of the English is required
