Project Accountant
Job Description
We are on the hunt for a talented development accountant to join our client in the Vancouver area!
ABOUT THE CLIENT
Impact recruitment has partnered with a real estate development firm that is owned and operated locally. They specialize in constructing multifamily residential projects in the Metro Vancouver area. Their previous accomplishments include the development of award-winning town home communities, with a primary focus being on Vancouver, Burnaby and Richmond.
ABOUT THE POSITION
Reporting to the Controller, the development accountant will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Prepare monthly progress draws, proforma budget, budget updates, project costs and change orders.
- Review job costs reports and identify potential cost overruns.
- Reconcile and calculate profit distributions and assist in project tax and legal wind up.
- Respond to vendor or investor inquires, regarding project financials, tax and distributions.
- Assist in implementation of process improvements and do ad hoc projects as needed.
- Assist with project cashflow and process project month end/ year-end financial statements.
- Assist with accounts payable invoices, and review bank reconciliations.
- 3+ years of development accounting experience.
- Construction accounting experience is an asset.
- Diploma or degree is accounting
- Salary: $80,000 to $85,000
- Extended health and dental
- Discretionary bonus
- 2 to 3 weeks vacation
