Project Accountant (contract Position)

Job Description
If you are a talented and experienced Project Accountant who is looking for a 1-3-month contract (potential for extension), Aplin has the right opportunity for you! Our client, a leader in their field, has partnered with Aplin to grow their team in Calgary.
Responsibilities:
- Perform full-cycle accounting on a project-by-project basis.
- Develop and manage cost reports and project proformas as needed.
- Monitor, review, and reconcile budgets, holdback accounts, construction loan draw requests, and invoices.
- Review monthly accounts payable related to project entities.
- Prepare monthly bank and loan reconciliations.
- Prepare financial statements and ensure compliance with accounting standards and procedures for multiple project entities.
- Prepare and analyze working papers for project entities.
- Ensure that the financial information provided is timely and relevant for effective decision-making.
- Track and reconcile intercompany and interdivisional accounts.
- Ad-hoc analysis and projects as required.
- A Professional Accounting Designation and/or 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong working knowledge of AX 2012 are preferred.
- Proven ability to work with multiple projects.
- Real Estate industry experience (preferred).
- Excellent communication and people skills.
