Job Description

The Resource Centre for Suicide Prevention (RCSP) is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our dynamic team. As Programs Assistant, you'll be the welcoming face of our office, a key part of the organizational backbone behind our programs, and a vital support to the team working every day to promote mental wellness and suicide prevention in our community.

Key Responsibilities



Administrative Support



Greet and welcome visitors, participants, and community members in a professional and compassionate manner Manage phone, email, and in-person inquiries Maintain office supplies/equipment, inventories, shared calendars, and filing systems Prepare agendas, minute-taking, and logistics for meetings Help keep our website and community resource listings current Keep common spaces functional and inviting Assist with processing invoices and incoming cheques Assist with accounts payable and financial reporting when required Support planning and logistics for major fundraising events Assist with event coordination

Program Support



Prepare packages and logistics for training sessions, support groups, and workshops Track registrations, attendance, evaluations, and certifications Assist with social media and promotions Help coordinate materials for community booths /trade shows, and special events Track promotional materials/items Provide information, support, and referrals (with appropriate training)

Qualifications and Core Competencies



Certificate or diploma in Office/Business Administration; a combination of relevant experience and education will be considered Minimum of 2 years of experience in an administrative support role Experience in bookkeeping is an asset Demonstrated ability to provide professional and compassionate service in person and over the phone Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and online tools Experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage) is an asset Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion Skilled in creating and managing tracking systems Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Highly detail-oriented Flexible and responsive to the evolving needs of a small team Willingness to work in a trauma-informed, mental health-focused setting Occasional evening work may be required Certification in ASIST is an asset (training will be available) Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle Criminal Record Check and Child Intervention Check

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
