Loewen Windows and Doors is looking for a Programmer Analyst to join our IT team. The Programmer Analyst develops, maintains, and tests programming application on the IBMi platform within a complex manufacturing environment. As the successful candidate you will work with internal customers to enhance existing applications while contributing to the future of Loewen\'s technology strategy.

In this role you will:

• Develop new applications and modify existing programs to meet the needs of our internal customers
• Collaborate with stakeholders in the architecture, analysis, design, specifications and documentation of system applications and databases
• Provide support for day-to-day inquiries over a wide range of applications
• Monitor usage of application software and investigate problems to improve operating efficiency and effectiveness
• Thoroughly test software to ensure proper operation, tool quality and high performance
• Available for after hour support, on a rotation schedule
• Configure and monitor BRMS backups
• System maintenance including applying PTFs, firmware updates, etc

What you will bring:

• 10+ years of application development experience
• Comprehensive IBMi programming skills including RPG/RPGLE, CL/CLLE, DDS, SQL, and embedded SQL within RPG
• A good understanding of ILE concepts: Modules, Service Programs, etc.
• Excellent working knowledge of development tools such as Rational, SDA, SEU
• Strong analytic skills and effective at debugging RPG applications
• Working knowledge of IBMi hardware, tape libraries, Virtual Tape Libraries (VTL)
• Proficiency in performing installation of OS upgrades
• Experience working with LPAR\'s and HMC
• System backup and recovery concepts
• Basic system security and networking concepts
• Experience managing data replication and IBMi High Availability

The following will be considered assets:

• Familiarity working with IBM VIOS and SAN infrastructures
• BRMS expertise
• Experience with EDI
