Core Purpose and Essence of the Position:

Design & implement innovative warehouse solutions and drive the successful execution of key automation projects for existing and new clients. The Programme Manager will report to Sr. Manager of Engineering, but will also work closely with key stakeholders in Operations, Business Development, WMS Engineers & IT.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Technical

  • Lead and support the development of best-in-class operating solutions that include all operational elements including calculation of operating cost, design of operation flow, selection of technology and equipment and facility layout design
  • Analyze client profile & create technical specifications to design optimal & feasible solutions in collaboration with operations & WMS engineers
  • Analyze workflow including inbound, put away, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping, and VAS processes to ensure accuracy and ability to execute
  • Performs special research or technical studies critical to logistic support functions
  • Analyze contractual commitments, customer specifications, design changes and other data to develop design solutions.
Financial
  • Perform cost/benefit trade-off analysis and develop ROI business cases for recommended projects involving process, system, or advanced technology changes
  • Perform pricing simulations to identify best in class solution that is flexible across multiple scenarios
  • Manage & support repricing and budgeting for existing clients
  • Identify key metrics and provide recommendations to guide management.
Project & Stakeholder Management
  • Lead and deliver successful implementations of automation and mechanization initiatives on time, on budget and with high customer satisfaction
  • Work closely with Project & Implementation, Solutions & Pricing & Applications Engineering teams to ensure standardization of best practices in DSV.
  • Support major changes within the warehouse with regards to processes, MHE, WMS, automation & mechanization
  • Present & communicate design proposals to all levels of management ensuring effective collaboration & alignment from all parties
  • Work with outside vendors on new technology and solutions equipment and technique.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of WMS (Warehouse Management Systems)
  • Advanced Knowledge of Excel, Access & AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of MS Power BI, MS Visio & Project is preferrable.
Communication Skills
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Able to communicate design ideas, drive discussions to generate ideas & solve problems
  • Customize response based on audience
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations to management and executives.
Organizational Skills
  • Task prioritization & time management skill
Other
  • Able to travel within GTA, within Canada & if required international travel for conferences, site visits & trade events
  • Knowledge of basic engineering finances & accounting principles
  • Knowledge of warehousing processes, systems, and equipment (MHE)
  • Knowledge of WMS.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong project management skills.
MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Industrial Engineering required or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years\' experience in a warehouse environment.
