We are looking for a highly motivated and committed leader to join our Residential Support team as a
Full Time, Permanent On-Call Supervisor in Calgary, Alberta.

This position involves awake overnight and asleep overnight on-call shifts that will be longer than 10 hours. The majority of shifts are remote/work from home.
As an On-Call Supervisor for our Residential Support Program, you will incorporate front-line supervisory functions and direct support/service responsibilities. You will be available to respond to emergencies and work absence/scheduling issues during evenings, overnights, and weekends.
This position is primarily work from home, so a functional home office with reliable computer and telephone are a must.
To succeed as an On-Call Supervisor, you should demonstrate the ability to:
Lead staff in various situations to ensure effective and efficient implementation of policies and procedures
Calmly respond to emergency situations by drawing from your skills and previous experience in the field of disability support care for complex individuals
Act as the team resource for information on relevant policies, procedures, legislation, and regulations
Act as the principal liaison between staff and other program management
Build strong relationships with CLAS leadership teams, Client Service Coordinators, Trustees, and other general service practitioners, as required
Contribute to the development and management of team scheduling by fielding and resolving illness, injury, and other work absence calls from frontline care staff
Have previous experience in residential support structures for persons with disabilities
Provide support and feedback with support workers' required documentation such as critical incident reports, WCB injury, and medical reports
Understand mental health and complex issues
You will bring:
Education:
Degree or Diploma in Social Services, Community Rehabilitation, Disability Studies. Some post secondary or extended education with experience will also be considered.
Experience:
1+ years of experience in a supervisory role in the Community Disability Support field.
1+ years of direct, front-line experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in a total care environment, providing assistance and support for daily living and community inclusion.
Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities, including challenging behaviours ( such as aggressive and/or potentially self-harming tendencies) , mental health, multi-diagnosis, and complex needs
is a must.
Hours & Location:
This position involves awake overnight and asleep overnight on-call leadership shifts that will be longer than 10 hours.
The majority of shifts are remote/work from home. A dedicated home office space including computer and telephone are required. The Agency does not furnish home offices for staff.
Week A
- Thursday & Friday 4:30 PM to 8:30 AM, Saturday 8:30 AM to Sunday 8:30 AM (24 hours on-call)
Week B
- Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 4:30 PM to 8:30 AM, Saturday 8:30 AM to Sunday 8:30 AM (24 hours on-call)
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
A positive attitude and belief that with specialized supports individuals can develop skills towards participating in their communities
Demonstrated supervisory, leadership and team building skills
Demonstrated ability to work productively and independently
Ability to respond calmly in high-stress situations
Excellent communication skills
Excellent computer skills including familiar use of the full MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.), proficient use of a variety of internal and external website formats, and the ability to navigate video conferencing technology
Must be able to identify issues, set priorities, and implement an appropriate plan of action
Well-developed reporting skills within sector standard subjects and timelines (daily, weekly, monthly)
Other Necessities:
-A Class 5 or better driver's license issued in Canada
-You will need to have a reliable vehicle and personal liability insurance with a minimum third party coverage of two million dollars ($2,000,000.00).
You must be willing to transport staff or individuals accessing our services if unforeseen circumstances arise.
-Successful candidate will need to provide a Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sectors Search (new to within 3 months of your start date with us)
