About the Role

CASA House

CASA House is a live-in program for teens who need support with significant mental health and/or addictions challenges. Teens stay at CASA House for an average of four months. The program involves parents and caregivers as active participants in treatment. Treatment includes individual, group and family therapy, social and life skills training, and on-site schooling in small classroom settings.



The Program Supervisor will:Support program staff to use a holistic and high-quality model of assessment and treatment planning that is family-centred, trauma-informed and inclusive of biological, psychological, social and cultural factors. Support the Program Manager in the development and maintenance of a competency framework for program. Work in collaboration with the Program Manager and the Medical Lead(s) to support the development of a high-functioning clinical team. Support the provision of evidence-informed practice in the program(s). Oversee program referral, intake and admission processes based on program inclusion/exclusion criteria, and present 'exceptional case' referrals to the Program Manager for final approval. Facilitate and lead clinical groups and initiatives as appropriate (e.g. group therapy, reflecting teams). Develop and implement program-level education/training for the program area in collaboration with the Program Manager.. Provide clinical supervision to clinical staff as required. Provide in-the-moment coaching, role modeling and direction to program area staff. Assist with program development. Support program recruitment by participating in interviews and selection process. Model and encourage effective communication within and between teams to promote a safe, respectful and trusting workplace culture. Lead case conferences.


Qualifications

Bachelor's, master's or doctoral degree in a relevant health discipline (e.g., psychology, social work, occupational therapy, nursing, etc.) from an accredited institution is required. Must be registered with the appropriate regulatory body for the health discipline in Alberta. In some situations, a national registration may be acceptable. A minimum of five years of clinical practice in child and family mental health and/or youth addictions. Specialized training and/or experience in leadership, management or advanced clinical practice within the health discipline is necessary.


Conditions of Employment

A satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Intervention Check. This would be the financial responsibility of the successful candidate. Ability to pass and maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification (training provided by CASA), as well as physical ability to perform all interventions.
