Position Overview

As a Program Staff member, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality programming to children and youth by helping to create a safe, exciting, and supportive environment for our members. The guaranteed work schedule for this position is Monday to Friday from 2:00pm to 5:30pm. There will also be opportunities to add additional shifts/hours for our evening, morning and weekend programs.

Key Responsibilities

Facilitate daily activities across programs such as Breakfast Program, After-School Program, Evening Drop-In, Summer Camp, and more.

Build positive relationships with children and youth, fostering inclusion, confidence, and social skills.

Support participants with diverse needs.

Lead creative and educational activities, including themed projects like anti-bullying art and video game-inspired challenges.

Assist with special events such as birthday rentals, guest speaker sessions, and community fundraisers.

Implement behavior management strategies in alignment with organizational guidelines.

Ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all participants.

Document incidents, attendance, and participant progress.

Communicate effectively with other staff and supervisors to ensure smooth program delivery.

Qualifications

Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends is considered an asset.

A positive attitude and commitment to creating a safe and inclusive space.
