The OVPR provides guidance for UVics research agenda at the institutional level, including setting strategic research priorities and developing initiatives to support research to ensure that UVic research continues to grow and prosper.Within the Research Partnerships and Knowledge Mobilization unit, the Innovation Centre is an initiative of the Office of the Vice President of Research and Innovation. The Innovation Centre assists members of the UVic community from all disciplines to explore the commercialization of products, concepts and services including ideas for social innovation. The Innovation Centre has a network of over 80 volunteers that help with the ideation phase of business development and social innovation, and is the primary portal through which students, staff and faculty obtain these services and supports. The Innovation Centre maintains partnerships with local incubators as a pathway for entrepreneurs to obtain commercialization support post the ideation phase.Reporting to the Director of the Innovation Centre, Program, Operations and Communications Coordinator is expected to develop and implement the Centres communications and marketing strategies that will lead to increased student, staff and faculty engagement, and establish stronger connections and broader clientele. The position is responsible for developing a coordinated approach to internally and externally promoting the diverse activities and achievements of the Innovation Centre and driving awareness of the Innovation Centre services across campus and within the community. The coordinator will represent the Innovation Centre in the provision of services to women entrepreneurs and in so doing work with the Associate Director to plan, deliver and expand Innovation Centre services to women entrepreneurs. The coordinator will work with the Director in strategic analysis and planning related to projects, daily processes and timelines, and will be accountable in realizing the goals of the Innovation Center per partnership obligations, monitoring targets and contractual deliverables, and building partner recognition.Travel, and work evenings and weekends may be necessary.Job RequirementsThe Program, Operations and Communications Coordinator requires a degree in a related discipline plus a minimum of two years experience in an associated field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Additional Experience:
