The Department of Family and Community Medicine (DFCM) is recognized internationally for its clinical, educational and research excellence. Our faculty are clinical and academic leaders who are breaking new ground on issues ranging from inner city health, emergency medicine, addiction medicine, global health, palliative care, immigrant andindigenous health and far more.
The DFCM is home to the Supplemental Emergency Medicine Experience (SEME) Program, a three-month clinical and academic immersion that enhances emergency medicine skills for family physicians in Ontario's rural and smaller communities. It is focused on practical, hands-on learning, builds confidence in managing acute resuscitations, high-risk procedures, and complex cases.
As the Supplemental Emergency Medicine Experience (SEME) Program Officer youwill play an integral role in overall coordination of program logistics, interviews, scheduling rotations and clinical skills programming including equipment purchase and set up and updating content for an online learner management system. Your strong communication, organizational and critical thinking skills, attention to detail and program stakeholder relations experience will be key to your success in this role.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing detailed information on program and/or course eligibility requirements, procedures, policies and deadlines
Coordinating interview schedules and interviewing program applicants
Analyzing potential placement opportunities to determine suitability with student academic learning objectives
Liaising with stakeholders and faculty to coordinate academic schedule
Advising and coaching students on the selection of appropriate work-integrated learning opportunities
Determining logistical details and activities for events and/or programming
Collating and organizing data for various reports
Directing the activities of a single ongoing staff-appointed employee
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
Minimum three (3) years' relevant administrative experience within an academic and/or health care setting
Knowledge of clinical placement policies and processes
Demonstrated experience coordinating rotation schedules and/or timetables
Experience coordinating events, workshops and seminars
Experience fostering and maintaining positive relations with external stakeholders
Experience maintaining databases and generating reports
Experience in managing multiple priorities with conflicting deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy
Ability to work independently with a high degree of initiative, discretion, and tact; ability and willingness to work cooperatively in a challenging and dynamic environment
Ability to use sound judgment under pressure, while using high degree of independence, initiative, tact and discretion
Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite, survey tools and video conference platforms (Zoom, MS Teams)
Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), judgement, organizational and analytical skills
Flexibility and ability toadapt to changing policies and procedures

Experience fostering relationships with prospective and current preceptors.
This is a term role until March 2026, with a possibility of renewal.
