Summary



As a Program Manager at MCHA, The Program Manager/ Special Projects Coordinator will provide support to the Residential Supervisor and staff of the Residential Care Facility. Support includes day to day involvement in administrative duties and the coordination and monitoring of client care. This is a term position with a projected end date of March 31, 2027.

Responsibilities



Ensures the provision of a supportive home environment in conjunction with staff and the Residential Supervisor. Ensures that staff fulfil their responsibilities for participant support in conjunction with the Residential Supervisor. Maintains participants' files and prepares and updates individual program plans and conditions; supports the coordination of participants' medical appointments and any resulting documentation. Encourages recreation initiatives Works with participants in identifying their needs and develops, implements, and evaluates support plans. Shares in the facilitation of Participants' Meetings and ensures minutes are taken and action items are addressed in coordination with Residential Supervisor. Coordinates and directs staff to appropriate community resources, encourages Participation and liaises with those resources as required for participant care. Provides supervision of staff in relation to program management and provides input to performance reviews. Provides minor day to day performance correction/providing support and direction. Participates in the interview process with or for the Residential Supervisor to ensure candidates are interviewed promptly. Participates in the staff orientation process. Co-chairs staff meetings. Assists the Residential Supervisor to ensure that the 'Homes for Special Care Act' and its Regulations are being followed by staff. Supports staff to take action with challenging situations or crises involving participants and intervenes when necessary. Ensures the staff schedule is completed and updated as shifts are filled. Completes payroll duties when Residential Supervisor is not available. Coordinates menu planning, food inventory and ordering while monitoring budget and quality of meals. Shares in the Medication Audits process with the Residential Supervisor Ensures PORs and related documentation, Support Plans, MAR sheets, Client Information Record, Risk Indicators etc. are completed, accurate and up to date Provides back up to the Residential Supervisor during periods of absence. Makes any Protection for Persons In Care reports in absence of Residential Supervisor Shares in the Medication Audit process with Residential Supervisor. Completes or assists with other administrative duties and special projects as assigned. Assists the Residential Supervisor with the continuance of safety, maintenance and health standards of the Home. Recommends maintenance and replacement needs to the Residential Supervisor. Ensures that staff are keeping up with the cleanliness and tidiness of the home; including participant bedrooms/bathrooms. Leads by example and steps into household duties when necessary.

Qualifications



Bachelor's degree or diploma in Human Services combined with 5 years' experience in mental health. Experience with developing and monitoring individual program planning. Proven leadership ability.

This term could lead to possible extension.
