The Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily coordination of services by providing supervision, leadership, and direction to the assigned program and number of employees. This position is responsible for ensuring that the supported individuals' physical, emotional, social, recreational, economic, educational, and/or medical needs are met. Tasks to supervise may include but are not limited to; life skills development, meal preparation, housekeeping, personal care, budget management, behavioral support management and following/implementing personal care plans. As a manager, you are expected to actively support and implement the vision, mission, values, and program goals of the agency.
•Responsibilities •
• Represent Bonaventure Support Services in a professional manner within community, while on various committees with outside agencies, funders, and guardians.
• Work in collaboration with •MCFD, CLBC, VIHA, DDMHT, HSCL, Behavior Consultants•, etc. and the Bonaventure Leadership team.
• Provide leadership and guidance in supporting individuals who may engage in self-injurious behaviors.
• Uphold the Policies and Procedures of Bonaventure Support Services while modelling our Mission Statement, Values and Code of Ethics.
• Adhere to any relevant Legislation and Regulations (•Motor Vehicle Act, CLBC, MCFD, CARF, WorkSafe-BC, Employment Standards•).
• Follow the Leadership Handbook, Action Plan and Monthly Competency, focusing on health and safety and quality improvement, specifically in relation to CARF Accreditation.
• Develop and maintain a cohesive team spirit and pleasant work environment, promoting an effective and supportive working relationship with a team of diverse backgrounds.
• Coordinate a weekly staffing schedule and manage program funding by reconciling monthly petty cash expenditures.
• Advocate and promote respectful treatment of individuals and defend individual rights, accounting for each individuals' unique personalities and challenges.
• Assists Behavior Consultant in developing an individual Health and Safety Plan and or Behavior Support Plan for each person supported when required.
• Encourage individuals to communicate needs, choices, and preferences, and to support the use of inclusive and adaptive communication strategies.
• Create Person Centered Plans and Risk Assessments for each supported individual with the input from guardians and all relevant stakeholders.
• Work alongside Human Resources Team and Director Team to provide strong organizational, problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Establish strong connections with families and team members.
• Provide an environment that respects and maintains confidentiality and privacy.
• Prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities, meeting timelines, and working independently.
Qualifications
• Preferred formal education (Diploma or Degree, CSW, RCA, SIVA etc.) and/or work experience with persons with diverse-abilities and/or other relevant experience.
• The desire and ability to work with persons with diverse-abilities and demonstrate personal suitability to promote dignity, independence, individuality.
• Must be in good health with the physical ability to carry out the duties of the position and shift responsibilities.
• Excellent interpersonal behavior and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a high stress environment.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook.

• Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License.
• 3 Reference Letters - •(One must be a most recent employer) •.
• RCMP Criminal Record Check (Schedule A - Employer will file).
• Immunization Records or Medical Exemption.
• MCFD Hub Screening (Employer will file).
• First Aid with CPR Certificate.
• Food Safe Level 1 Certificate.
• Signed Bonaventure Hire Package.
• Physician's Declaration.
• TB Screen.
