Position: Program Manager, IT Enterprise Disaster Recovery Framework
Location: Toronto, Hybrid
Job Type: Contract
We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead the implementation and execution of the IT Enterprise Disaster Recovery Framework. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing disaster recovery strategies, implementing DR plans and processes, and collaborating with business units to develop comprehensive business continuity plans.
Position Overview:
The successful candidate will partner with key stakeholders to execute proactive and effective Disaster Recovery (DR) initiatives across the organization. This role involves embedding a risk and resiliency management culture into delivery, support, and operations to enable business objectives. The Program Manager will apply their in-depth knowledge to solve complex business problems and provide technical expertise and leadership to the program delivery team, ensuring compliance with enterprise architectural standards and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead a technical team to develop and implement Disaster Recovery Plans, creating strategies to respond to and recover from IT disaster events.
- Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to conduct risk assessments and manage technology, resiliency, and recovery risks.
- Establish and oversee coordinated DR testing work plans, ensuring minimum testing activities are completed.
- Regularly assess the effectiveness of disaster recovery strategies and make necessary modifications.
- Provide training programs for employees on disaster recovery procedures.
- Conduct evaluations after disasters and adjust recovery plans as needed.Work Experience:- Undergraduate degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, or other relevant professional designation.
- Experience in a Disaster Recovery leadership role.
- Experience as a Program/Project Manager or in client-facing consulting is an asset.
- Project Management certification is a plus.
- Proven ability to lead project teams.
- Excellent oral, written, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- Self-motivated and a quick learner.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies with experience in one or more IT delivery models: Waterfall, Incremental, Agile, Lean, DevOps.
- Experience with build, promotion, and release management processes.
