What will you do?

  • Development and execution of strategic initiatives and projects within the PSOC, including the continued development of the program and its ongoing evolution. Identifying and realizing opportunities for process optimization
  • Managing day-to-day PSOC operations, including:
  • Ensuring effective communication across shifts in a 24/7/365 environment.
  • Developing, implementing, and ensuring adherence with policy and process changes.
  • Establishing norms, standards, and mechanisms to ensure programmatic excellence.
  • Incident management: the intake, triage, assessment, and response to physical incidents, which may or may not affect Sun Life buildings and personnel.
  • Manage the effective recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of new team members.
  • Global alarm monitoring and guard dispatch.
  • Preliminary to intermediary incident investigations, report writing and baseline physical threat monitoring.
  • Supporting travel risk monitoring for Sun Life employees and Executives.
  • Collection of basic intelligence from a variety of sources, in coordination with the Investigation and Intelligence team.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business partners and colleagues across the team, especially with the Investigation and Intelligence team.
  • Management of the IRC staff, in coordination with the Physical Security Operations Manager.
  • Manage performance dashboards, analyze metrics, identify trends, and take appropriate action to address any risks or vulnerabilities associated with the trends.
  • Management of knowledge documents for the PSOC and responsible for ensuring they are accurate and updated according to internal review cycles.
What You Need To Succeed
  • Degree or diploma in security, investigations, or risk management; or comparable professional education/training in a field relevant to security or investigation management.
  • Minimum of 5-years of experience leading teams within a corporate, government security, law enforcement environment, or risk department for a similar organization of comparable size and complexity.
  • A recognized professional designation in physical and/or information security.
  • A relentless passion for process efficiency, excellence, and program evolution.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
