Program Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES:



1. Liaison with customer engineering and purchasing group to ensure program launch is achieved. Ensure all drawings and associated math are to correct revision level, review part feasibility at program launch for manufacturing including material and tolerances. Assure that the cross functional teams are aligned on the product actions.

2. Apply the launch management tools to drive internal program metrics and make sure they align with customer key dates. Interface with purchasing, manufacturing/product engineering, quality and production to confirm alignment and highlight/resolve open issues.

3. Work directly with customer to address changes of program objectives such as prototypes, volumes, mix, contents, program assumptions, design change requirements.

4. Work directly with the customer product engineering and program management organization to manage customer key dates, prototypes, change control, change implementation plans and overall program timing. Communicate and drive customer program requirements

5. Control costs associated with tooling and capital budgets for program launch, or C.I activities. Update lists monitoring costs and project accounting for all tooling and capital expenditures.

6. Drive APQP meetings with internal plant departments to ensure all time schedule items are completed for PPAP submission and program start-up is successful.

7. Ensure these meetings address issues related to the most efficient manufacturing methods (routings), work stations, standard times, die dimensions, handling, packing, special notes as required.

8. Document and drive print deviations requests to ensure final version is clearly defined, all tolerance and dimensions understood and able to be manufactured, ensure final version drawings are approved by customers.

9. Issue and follow - up on Engineering Change Notice & Routing Change notices to ensure changes have been communicated effectively to internal customers and external sub - contractors (material and process).

10. Approve payments to sub - contractors and follow up on payments with accounting to ensure timely payment

11. Assist in the sourcing of suppliers for material and ensure they provide the required information with the product being supplied. Ensure that engineering information regarding the purchasing of outside materials and services are defined through drawings and packaging. Work with purchasing to obtain the best price and delivery.

12. Ensure sample orders are built on - time and documentation/packaging/labeling are provided as outlined by customer order.

13. Manage initial trial runs to ensure products are to print and any special handling requirements are addressed.

14. Ensure process FMEA's are completed with team involvement and they remain active.

15. Create, maintain and follow up on all items identified in APQP timelines, drive other departments within the organization, or sub-contractors to complete items on time and on budget.

16. Monitor any changes that require requote and timing changes. Ensure all obsolete material is addressed and documents changed to suit

17. Coordinate work in collaboration with the plant management

18. Complete the project and obtain client's final acceptance (PPAP).

19. Evaluate customer satisfaction after launch and complete lessons learned regarding the launched program.

20. Support account manager to respond to customer production quotes requests, with focus on the customer product Engineering group.

21. Support production Management team to address quality concerns and reactions with customer facilities and engineering organizations. Single point of contact is required.

22. All other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:



EDUCATION:



Post Secondary Education in Engineering PMP certification is an asset

RELATED EXPERIENCE:



Experience in engineering program management. Previous experience in a leadership role a must. Project Coordination preferred. Engineering principle application, Drawing GD&T, Mechanical and Industrial engineering concepts. Working with mathematical concepts (eg. Probability, statistical inference, fundamentals of planes and solid geometry and trigonometry.) Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportion to practical situations Solid understanding of (GD&T) Geometric dimensions and tolerances.

SKILLS ESSENTIAL:



Proficient in Microsoft applications Ability to read, analyze and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Must be a self directed and motivated individual and willing to accept responsibility and accountability

SKILLS DESIRABLE:



Valid travelling document (license, passport) Tooling knowledge Welding knowledge Assembly knowledge
