NVCI (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention) training
The Program Manager provides leadership and oversight to the Children's Residential Support Homes in the communities of Oromocto and Fredericton. Providing overall care and support, the Program Manager will nurture and develop relationships with the individuals and internal and external support networks. Overseeing effective individual support and ensuring it aligns with the organizational values, goals, and support delivery standards to ensure support needs are consistently met.
Qualifications
The role requires an RN, or LPN designation.
Minimum 3 years experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Experience in working with children who have experienced trauma.
Must have a minimum of 3 years experience working with children with diverse needs.
Valid certification in emergency First aid and CPR- including infant and child CPR, FA, choking. (Training will be provided if required.)
Clear criminal record check, child abuse registry check, Social Development check, and vulnerable sector search
Possess a working knowledge of disability sector, Mental Health and/or Child and Family Services.
Strong knowledge and demonstration of the guidelines of the Protection of Persons in Care Act; rights of the child legislation.
Experience in planning and program development for children.
Training in non-violent crisis prevention training (NLO will provide training)
Willingness to continue training and education by attending company and regional courses/workshops.
Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
Above average communication skills (both written, and verbal) organizational skills, the ability to work effectively within a team environment, sound decision making abilities and the capacity to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to foster a team approach within the home.
