The Founder Success team is accountable for providing seamless founder support through structured programming and coaching engagements, and regularly engages 1,200+ participants/year. Reporting to the Director, Founder Success, you will be responsible for developing, executing and managing Platform programs (such as the Incubator and the Global Startup Visa program).

As a Program Manager, the work you do will be impactful for founders, the startup community and for our organization. From selection and on-boarding to coordinating operations and reporting, you will be responsible for the development, implementation and execution of Platform programming. The Program Manager, Founder Success is passionate about using their organization skills and understanding of the founder experience to build an organization that is dedicated to building Calgary as a global hub for startup and innovation.

This role is a contract position through December 2026.

What will you do?



Program Strategy

Collaboratively develop and implement Platform Calgary programs, develop and execute strategy for outreach, scouting, evaluating, selection and on-boarding of startups. Plan and design of the program, including defining program goals, objectives, and scope, and developing a comprehensive project plan that outlines timelines, resources, and key milestones.
Program Management & Operations including:

Collaborate with and lead Platform staff, including Startup Portfolio Leads, Program Specialists and Coordinators, to deliver programs Lead the work of Program Specialists/Coordinators, providing leadership and guidance around program execution and professional development Facilitation of full cohort activities such as peer mentorship, accountability check-ins and events. Collaborate with internal and external coaches to develop clear milestones and accountabilities throughout the individual founder journey. Recruitment and retention of external coaches and industry experts within the programs Coordinate with internal teams (Marketing, Finance, Portfolio Leads) as required to ensure all program elements are managed efficiently. Monitor and evaluate the program's performance against its goals and objectives. Collect data, including from participants, analyze, and report on the program's progress to stakeholders. Planning and execution of cohort kickoff and graduation events, including inviting relevant stakeholders such as government, partners, and funders Develop and manage the programs budget and ensure all expenses are within budget
Stakeholder Engagement

Gather relevant information for any grant reporting and preparing and submitting grant reports where required. Develop and execute a strategy for outcomes tracking throughout the program, as well as post-program participation. Build and maintain relationships with program stakeholders, including partners, and community members. Communicate regularly with stakeholders to keep them informed about the program's progress and ensure their continued support.
Additional Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the innovation ecosystem and trends, identifying opportunities to enhance programs Identify and recruit potential startup founders by attending networking events and conferences, as well as leveraging personal and professional networks. Understand and communicate the needs of startup founders to other internal teams. Champion Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility (IDEA) initiatives at Platform Calgary. Ad hoc projects and duties will be assigned as required.

Who you are:



5+ years' experience in a Program Management role, or equivalent Program development experience or experience as a startup founder or early team member Ideally you have already run an accelerator level program, supported startups as a coach or have been an entrepreneur yourself. Project management experience - coordinating many moving pieces while keeping an eye on outcomes and staying within budget. Experience managing multiple stakeholder groups including government, ecosystem supports and startups. Strong background in facilitation of larger groups and building communities based on empathy and inclusion. Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with teammates, founders, partners, members and other players in the tech ecosystem. Competency in G-Suite, Asana, Slack, Eventbrite, HubSpot and Notion are considered an asset.

Ability to easily switch between strategic thinking and execution, taking high-level ideas and turning them into well organized and easily-understandable documents and materials. Strong communication skills to be able to work with customers and stakeholders internally and externally to ensure efficient program delivery. Understand how to effectively derive and measure results from the programs we deliver and how we might learn and iterate from those results. Knowledgeable about entrepreneur development and the startup ecosystem in Calgary. Team player that is enthusiastic about working cross-functionally. Passion for innovation, community and entrepreneurship. Ability to flourish in a fast-paced environment, adapt and be proactive. Ability to facilitate collaboration among multiple parties with disparate views and objectives and align the group toward a cohesive outcome. Ability to be a community builder, establishing relationships with multi-faceted stakeholder groups and key partners.
