About Ice River Sustainable Solutions
Ice River Sustainable Solutions is a growing Canadian manufacturer focused on sustainable products, operating multiple production facilities across Canada. Our environment is fast-paced, operations-driven, and deeply rooted in manufacturing reality. Enterprise systems at Ice River exist to support plants, people, and production, not the other way around.
We are seeking a Program Manager to lead major enterprise initiatives, including SAP and related systems, in a way that is practical, hands-on, and deeply connected to manufacturing operations.
The Role
This role is not a traditional IT project manager position.
We are looking for a manufacturing-first leader who has lived inside plant-driven organizations and has led enterprise system implementations (especially SAP) from a business and operational perspective. The successful candidate will be accountable for end-to-end program ownership, working closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Maintenance, and IT to ensure systems are implemented in a way that actually works on the floor.
You may come from Supply Chain, Operations, Procurement, Manufacturing Excellence, or Enterprise Systems leadership. What matters most is that you have personally led SAP-enabled transformation in a manufacturing environment, understand how enterprise systems impact day-to-day plant performance, and are comfortable owning both the people and execution aspects of large initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Own end-to-end delivery of enterprise programs, including SAP and related platforms, from business case development through stabilization and adoption
Act as the single point of accountability for enterprise initiatives, ensuring all moving parts across functions are aligned
Act as the bridge between manufacturing operations and IT, ensuring systems support production, planning, maintenance, and supply chain realities
Lead enterprise-wide working sessions with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, Maintenance, and IT, often with competing priorities
Drive requirements definition, process design, fit-gap analysis, and operating-model alignment across manufacturing sites
Partner with IT, SAP analysts, and external vendors while retaining ownership of outcomes, not just coordination
Lead change management, stakeholder engagement, training readiness, and adoption across plants
Develop and present business cases, timelines, risks, and investment justifications to senior leadership and business owners
Be hands-on when required, particularly early in programs or in lean resourcing situations
Ensure enterprise systems support data integrity, business intelligence, reporting, and decision-making across the organization
What We're Looking For
Proven experience in a manufacturing environment (plant-based, industrial, or asset-heavy)
Direct involvement in at least one SAP implementation or major SAP transformation within manufacturing (ECC or S/4HANA)
Experience leading enterprise initiatives end-to-end, not just individual projects or workstreams
Demonstrated ability to facilitate cross-functional groups, manage ambiguity, and drive alignment
Strong understanding of how ERP systems impact production planning, inventory, procurement, maintenance, cost control, and reporting
Comfort operating in a hands-on, mid-sized organization where roles are not overly siloed and ownership matters
Background in Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing Excellence, Operations, or Enterprise Systems leadership
SAP Power User experience or close partnership with SAP functional and technical teams
Experience with business intelligence, reporting, or enterprise data visibility tied to manufacturing performance
Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement exposure
Experience in organizations that balance corporate systems with plant-level autonomy
Why This Role Is Different
At Ice River, enterprise systems succeed only when they are grounded in manufacturing reality and adopted by the people who use them. This role exists to ensure SAP and related platforms are implemented in a way that operators, planners, and plant leaders actually trust and use.
If you have led SAP-enabled change from inside a manufacturing business and want to own outcomes, not just deliver projects, this role will be a strong fit.
