What will you do?




Program/Functional Management




Provides leadership for a large or complex program, or oversees a defined functional area spanning multiple programs. May support additional smaller programs or initiatives if operationally required. Serves as the primary owner of program or functional deliverables, accountable for outcomes, reporting, and quality standards. Supports development and implementation of operational work plans aligned with funding, community needs, and organizational goals. Applies labour market trends, functional best practices, and tools to guide staff and support effective service delivery. Monitors day-to-day program or functional activities to identify operational issues, service gaps, or workflow challenges, and escalates concerns to more senior leadership as needed. Contributes to funding proposals, RFPs, or functional documentation as required.

Leadership & Talent Development




Leads recruitment, selection, onboarding, and performance evaluations for program or functional staff. Provides direct supervision to staff, including Team Leads or Program Leads as applicable. Coaches team members in service delivery, functional skills, and leadership development. Champions diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility practices across the team. Promotes collaboration across teams or functions to support organizational success.

Operational & Financial Management




Monitors program or functional budgets, supports approval of expenditures within delegated authority, and escalates variances as needed. Ensures timely and accurate submission of reports, deliverables, and operational documentation. Oversees compliance with contractual, legal, and organizational requirements. Collaborates with support services (Finance, HR, IT, etc.) to ensure operational efficiency.

Stakeholder Leadership




Serves as a primary point of contact for funders, functional stakeholders, or program partners. Represents the program or functional area in external sector activities, working groups, or community collaborations. Develops and maintains relationships with employers, funders, and other external stakeholders relevant to the program or functional area. Supports alignment of program or functional work with broader organizational goals.

What does it take to do this job?




Completion of a post-secondary degree in Social Sciences, Business, Public Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience, including at least 3 years in program or functional management roles within nonprofit, social impact, or community service settings. Demonstrated experience managing large, complex programs with multiple deliverables, diverse teams, and high external accountability. Proven ability to lead staff, including new leaders, while fostering effective collaboration across program areas or functional teams. Strong analytical and operational planning skills, with the ability to translate labour market trends and program data into actionable operational strategies. Skilled in contract management, budget development, and oversight of program performance, with direct accountability for financial targets and deliverables. Proven ability to build and sustain productive relationships with funders, government partners, employers, and community stakeholders. Advanced proficiency with technology platforms used in program operations, including CRM systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications. Demonstrated track record in designing and executing operational plans that enhance program effectiveness and achieve measurable results. Proven ability to build consensus and influence internal and external stakeholders to advance program and organizational objectives. Advanced written and verbal communication skills, including presenting program strategies, challenges, and outcomes to funders and leadership audiences. Applies emotional intelligence, cultural competency, and trauma-informed practices to foster inclusive, psychologically safe, and high-performing teams. Demonstrated experience in coaching, mentoring, and developing leadership capacity in staff and emerging leaders. Proven ability to lead change management efforts during periods of organizational growth, transition, or program evolution. Demonstrated commitment to advancing equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility (EDIA) in leadership and program execution.

Some post-secondary education and/or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience will be considered for this role
