Are you interested in leading safe, fun and quality recreation programs for children? Provide guidance and leadership to the future of our generation! Your responsibilities in this role include providing exceptional customer service, planning and leading activities, and creating a fun and save environment for children. As a Program Leader, you will instruct the after-school programs in the schools and perform related work as required.

Successful candidates will receive leadership training, mentorship and the opportunity to work with an energetic and creative team of leaders and supervisors. Our programs take place in various schools and facilities throughout Burnaby where we are known in the community for excellence, inclusion, fun and safety.

Qualifications include high school graduation and some related experience preferably in municipal recreational work, some supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. This is a fantastic opportunity for those with a commitment to recreation and who are passionate and enthusiastic with strong leadership skills. Experience in coaching, camp counseling, leading Scouts or Guides, tutoring, or volunteering in recreation or a childcare leadership environment is considered an asset. Education and training including Recreation Leadership or Therapeutic Recreation Diplomas, Teacher Certification (PDP), Early Childhood Education, Child and Youth Care, High Five\xc2\xae and experience working with children and youth with extra needs are desired, and successful completion of First Aid Certification (8+ hour equivalent) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification \xe2\x80\x93 Level C are required.
