  • Recruit, train, engage and actively manage an integrated team of volunteers who will be accountable for delivering vision mate(s).
  • Develop implementation plans to maximize the success of CNIB\'s Volunteer and Vision Mate programs in local markets including the growth of existing CNIB programs, working within national service delivery standards and program curricula.
  • Constantly seeks opportunities to improve service delivery metrics and participant outcomes, leveraging available evaluation data for the region.
  • Keep abreast of best practices and new developments in programming for people who are blind, and proactively brings forward ideas on how to improve this work.
  • Help enhance provincial accessibility legislation through advocacy and awareness.
  • Develop and implement communication strategies to promote CNIB services and programs to individuals with sight loss not yet connected with CNIB (developing relationships with eye doctors, etc.)
  • Build strong, positive relationships with program participants, and seeks insight into their unique needs, goals, and lived experiences.
  • Proactively encourage program participants to take advantage of other CNIB programs and services that may benefit them, offering opportunities to expand their support network and deepen their community engagement.
  • Lead and manage outcome evaluation processes for the program in the region, using a national framework to meet goals of CNIB as well as the Aging Well At Home funding agreement.
  • Work closely with the Executive Director, CNIB Maritimes and other New Brunswick staff to identify, place, and supervise volunteers in roles throughout the organization.
  • Provide administrative support to the Strategic Leadership Councils in NB.
Requirements:Who you are:Education and Certifications\xc2\xb7 Post-Secondary degree or diploma in a related field (e.g. Social Work, Volunteer Management, Public Relations, etc.) or equivalent experience.Experience and Qualifications
  • 3+ years\' experience working and managing volunteers to deliver programming.
  • Bilingualism (fluent in English and French).
  • A track record of successful people management encompassing leading, managing, and motivating teams of staff and volunteers.
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing and communication skills, with the ability to plan and deliver clear communications to a dispersed audience.
  • Connections to leadership groups/ organizations in the region.
  • Effectively demonstrates understanding and championing of diversity and accessibility issues.
  • Experience in delivering training workshops and devising and delivering presentations.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Good relationship/team builder and networking skills with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical, problem definition and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven time management, planning, coordinating and organization skills; proactive in initiating multiple projects on an ongoing basis.
  • Professional attitude, results oriented, strategic and flexible.
  • Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset.
  • Personal or professional experience working with assistive technology and/or accessible environments is considered an asset.
Work Environment
  • Hybrid position working from home and the CNIB Office in Moncton.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours.
  • Occasional travel will be required.
