Reports to: Day Program Manager

Job Classification: Contracted 40 hours/week for 6 months with the possibility of extension.

Camp Gencheff is a year-round facility located in Stratford, Prince Edward Island, offering a variety of programs for Children, youth and Adults with physical and intellectual disabilities. Our Adult Day Program caters to adults with physical and intellectual disabilities, offering programs focusing on life enrichment and life skills building programming, ensuring an inclusive and engaging environment for all participants.

Who are you?

Education: Human services diploma or BA Degree preferred (or equivalent combined education and experience)

Experience: 3+ years in the human services field

- You possess the ability to lead a team and delegate tasks.

- You have the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently

- You are able to think on your feet

- You are able to work independently as well as in a group setting.

- You are comfortable with participant personal care(s)

- You have a valid government issued drivers license and your own and/or have access to a vehicle with 2 million liability insurance.

- You are comfortable transporting day program participants within the Charlottetown/ Stratford areas

- You make confidentiality and participant experience your top priority

Job Summary

The Program Lead is responsible for supervising the Adult Day Program and support staff. Key responsibilities include maintaining confidentiality among staff and participants, facilitating the day program, and creating and following daily programming schedules. The Program Lead ensures that all company policies and procedures are followed and reports any non-compliance issues to the Program Manager. Additional duties include administering participant medications, assisting with personal care (e.g., bathroom trips, dressing, meal times), and delegating tasks to support staff. The Program Lead also assists the Program Manager with high school transition meetings, new participant tours, and ensures the completion of participant daily log books and attendance sheets. They are also tasked with keeping all program-related documentation current and maintaining constant communication with the Program Manager.
