The Tutor Me Please program provides after-school support to children aged 7-12 in academic, social, recreational, and behavioral areas. The

Program Facilitator

ensures a safe and inclusive environment, develops lesson plans, manages group dynamics, and fosters positive interactions. The role also involves collaboration with families, schools, and community partners in line with TNO's community development approach.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a high school diploma (with preference for additional education in child development) and 2-3 years of experience working with school-aged children in a community or institutional setting. They should be skilled in behavior management, knowledgeable about child development, and experienced in working with diverse newcomer communities. Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills are essential, along with a commitment to anti-oppressive, inclusive, and trauma-informed practices. A valid Vulnerable Sector Screening, First Aid & CPR certification, and TB test are required.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



Develops and implements weekly lesson plans and structured activities tailored to children's developmental stages. Ensures a safe and inclusive program environment in accordance with provincial safety regulations. Supports and monitors children during program hours, providing individual and group support. Maintains a clean and organized program space, responsible for set-up and clean-up. Collaborates with children, families, school staff, and the program founder to support student success. Builds strong, respectful relationships with children and their families. Ensures culturally appropriate resources and practices are in place. Collaborates with the EarlyON team and school staff to maintain a safe, welcoming space. Prepares and maintains weekly and monthly program records and reports. Manages program supplies and tracks expenses; ensures records are kept confidential. Develops a monthly work plan and maintains regular communication with TNO management and the program founder. Provides orientation, training, and supervision for volunteers and placement students. Tracks volunteer attendance and ensure professional goals are being met. Supports TNO outreach activities in collaboration with internal teams and community partners. Participates in local events, promotes the program, and engages families and community members. Encourages leadership and engagement among community participants.

Screening

- As a condition of employment, the successful applicant must complete a Vulnerable Sector Screening.

Job Type:

Part-Time contract until June 12, 2026.

Note:

The program runs during the school year and pauses during December holidays and March Break. Staff are not scheduled during these periods.

Work Location(s):

45 Overlea Blvd. Toronto, ON M4H-1C3, and other TNO locations.

Position Available: Some flexibility will be required based on program needs.



1 x Part-Time Contract Role:

Monday to Thursday, 2 hours per day (3:00 PM - 5:00 PM), 8 hours per week

1 x Part-Time Contract Role:

Monday to Thursday, 3 hours per day (2:30 PM - 5:30 PM), 12 hours per week
