Job Description

JOB SUMMARY: A position to assist and support the Community Credit Program working with youth who are currently engaged in programming in partnership with the Core Neighbourhood Youth Co-op and BGC. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Demonstrated ability to build respectful, trusting relationships to better support at-risk youth
  • Communicate with students and families regarding attendance, health, and overall wellbeing
  • Collaborate with partnerships within and outside of the building
  • Work collaboratively to provide food/nutrition security
  • Support classroom and curricular activity
  • Ability to recognize needed supports for students and the building
  • Ability to seek out and apply for partnerships that may be beneficial for the program
  • Work collaboratively with team members and building partners to support a positive, inclusive, and well-functioning environment
  • Plan, purchase and prepare nutritious meals in alignment with program needs, dietary requirements, and food safety standards
  • Communicate effectively with staff and partners to support daily operations and shared program goals
  • Contribute to a supportive team culture that prioritizes the well-being and growth of youth
  • Ability to recognize when additional support is needed for youth and seeks out appropriate resources, referrals, or internal supports to meet those needs
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Training beyond Grade 12 related to working to support students in the classroom with curricular instruction and activities
  • Commitment to ideals and principles of Catholic education
  • Successful experience working with "at-risk" adolescents (15-21 years old)
  • Training and/or experience in planning, conducting and supervising academic and recreational activities for High School aged students
  • Knowledge of basic computer programs, Edsby, word processing and internet skills
  • Proven ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated organizational skills
  • Experience with not-for-profit agencies in the community an asset
  • Certification in CPR and first aid
  • Completion of food safety certification
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Demonstrated knowledge of First Nations, Metis and Inuit culture, traditions and family systems
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
  • As per Collective Agreement
  • 6.5 hrs/day
  • To begin January 30, 2026
  • Salary range - $25.60 - $30.25 per hour
