Join us as a Program Director in our Ports & Resilience Practice to help our communities adapt and grow amidst a dynamic waterfront environment. As a vital member of our team, you\xe2\x80\x99ll be recognized as an industry leader and work on challenging maritime infrastructure and coastal resilience programs where your expertise will be utilized to proactively identify and solve the most complex challenges facing our coastal communities.

You\xe2\x80\x99ll have the chance to work with our global multi-disciplinary team of engineers and technical staff engaged on ports and maritime projects all over the world. Working with other members of the team, you\xe2\x80\x99ll help lead the design and delivery of projects ranging from local waterfront projects to international multi-billion-dollar port improvements or developments. In addition to managing program financials, delivery, and client relationships, you will have the opportunity to engage in detailed design, innovation, and analysis while partnering with our senior civil, coastal, geotechnical, and structural engineers. As Program Director, you will be responsible for the financial performance, technical quality, and safety of your team.

You\xe2\x80\x99ll also be instrumental in the growth and development of our coastal resiliency business strategy and contribute immediately to our Ports & Resilience strategic focus. We\xe2\x80\x99ll ask you to leverage your expertise to help us continue building our skills, knowledge, and resources to win and deliver complex results. Your client and industry relationships will help us serve new clients, win new work, and position for upcoming opportunities. You\xe2\x80\x99ll work with and guide other team members in the delivery of programs while also leading or supporting efforts to grow the practice with existing and new clients. Your experience and knowledge will help us develop and deliver on our plan for growth in this sector, as well as lead major ports programs to financial and delivery success.

On Specific Programs, We\xe2\x80\x99ll Also Ask You To:

  • Clarify the program\xe2\x80\x99s vision and strategy, and ensure efforts are prioritized to support them
  • Manage external client and stakeholders, as well as internal staff, to complete work on-time and within budget, including interfacing with teams working on other related programs/projects
  • Coordinate and/or oversee design, construction, and readiness activities with clients, consultants, and stakeholders
  • Oversee interdisciplinary teams and provide review and guidance during development of deliverables
  • When necessary, coordinate with regulatory agencies and serve as a liaison between clients and other agencies
  • Mentor and lead other port staff while creating an environment in which innovation and differences are openly shared, embraced, and incorporated into the team\xe2\x80\x99s activities
  • Assist with proposal development and participate in interviews and presentations
  • Participate in the Jacobs growth process and work collaboratively with Sales teams
  • Take an active role and participate in port/marine industry trade organizations, including presentation of papers, publications, and serving on select committees
  • Partner with the global Program Management team on leadership best practices

  • Relevant degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business or related field; Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree a plus
  • Strong ports, maritime, and resiliency program delivery experience
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to relate to technical staff and external clients
  • Ability to articulate a clear vision and build cohesive teams, and provide excellent social, networking, and presentation skills
  • Experience managing consultants, contractors, and senior managers
  • Experience with planning/scheduling, budgeting, and risk management concepts and tools
  • Ability to help market and win work for private and public port\xe2\x80\x99s partners and clients
  • Ability to articulate complex concepts and demonstrate extensive experience in partnership-building, agency coordination planning, and program experience
  • Flexibility to serve large and complex programs and clients across the United States and Canada
Ideally, You\'ll Also Have:
  • Registered Professional Engineer or Architect, PMP, PgMP and/or equivalent
  • Substantial experience in ports & maritime or coastal engineering fields
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary programs and project portfolios for large public clients
  • Experience with public and private liquid and bulk terminals preferred
  • Experience with marine structure inspections and appraisals preferred
  • Experience with managing multidiscipline marine projects preferred

The base salary range for this position is $275k to $350k and may fluctuate depending upon skills, experience, work location and additional factors, including relevant education and training.
