Job Description

We are a non-profit organizations located in Fort Saskatchewan, AB. Smart Learners Daycare & OSC believes that a child care program should enhance each child's social, physical, intellectual, creative and emotional development of the child - all for the child's holistic development. We further believe that by providing a variety of play based opportunities, through a responsible and productive interactions of children with other children and adults, the foundations of a culture of learning will be laid down and continue to grow and develop. Ultimately, our aim for each child is to foster the love of learning, of improving themselves by being mighty learners and citizens.

As part of our team, you will nurture children from various age groups starting from 0 months up to 12 years of age.

Qualifications:



Childcare Certification ( 3) Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector CPR and First Aid Certification Experience as a Program Director in a childcare setting (preferred) Experience in childcare setting Ability to work in a team setting and self-motivated Thorough understanding of ELCC Act & Regulations

Schedule:



Full-time (8 hours shift) Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities but not limited to:



Plan, develop, and oversee all aspects of the child care centre from inception through daily operations Ensure full compliance with Alberta licensing, health and safety standards, and program requirements Recruit, train, and supervise early childhood educators and support staff Implement ongoing staff development, evaluations, and performance improvement plans Develop and maintain Emergent and Alberta Flight Framework-aligned curriculum and materials for children aged 0 to 12 years, with appropriate support for younger children as needed Manage enrollment, child records, staffing schedules, and family communication Ensure that staff-to-child ratios and other regulatory standards are consistently met Maintain accurate documentation for licensing, inspections, and government grants Serve as the primary liaison with Alberta Children's Services and licensing officials Oversee budgeting, billing, and daily operations including a safe management of the kitchen and cleaning supplies to ensure long-term sustainability Prepare applications for grants, funding opportunities, and certifications Promote an inclusive, respectful, and collaborative culture for families and staff

Work Schedule:



This is a full-time position. Candidates must be available to work 40 hours per week in person at the facility. Typical working hours are Monday to Friday, with occasional flexibility required for special events or operational needs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
