Job Summary
The Office of Regional and International Community Engagement (ORICE) in the Faculty of Arts at the University of British Columbia (UBC) was established in 2016 to provide ongoing support in engaging regional and international stakeholders in addressing complex community issues. As a unit within the School of Public Policy and Global Affairs, ORICE collaborates with faculties and departments across UBC to design curricular and co-curricular activities focused on community engagement. These activities include international or regional service-learning courses, community-based research collaborations, short courses on global issues, and bringing partners into the classroom using technology. ORICE also hosts the Gender+ in Research Collective and the Human Rights Collective, promoting experiential learning and research across faculties. Through these efforts, ORICE fosters collaborative and transformative learning experiences for faculty, community partners, and students.

ORICE Program Coordinator Role Overview
The Program Coordinator for ORICE (Office of Regional and International Community Engagement) supports community-based learning partnerships, maintains relationships with faculty members and community partners, and assists students in regional or international placements. They integrate partner content into courses and programs using innovative technologies. The role involves planning, advising students, collaborating with organizations, and implementing programs. The Coordinator also oversees communication strategies, promoting ORICE programs through social media and storytelling. Incumbent will need to work flexible hours (including evenings), attend events and meetings as necessary. Regional/international travel may be required.
Organizational Status
The Program Coordinator is a member of the Office of Regional and International Community Engagement, a unit in The Faculty of Arts. Reporting to the Director, Regional and International Community Engagement the incumbent will interact closely with community partner organizations, faculty members, international field staff, students and other UBC departments including Enrollment Services and Go Global.
Work Performed
ORICE Programs & Student Participant Coordination including but not limited to;
Oversees, coordinates and implements the ORICE co-curricular and curricular programs.
