Position Overview
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated
Program Manager
to lead our
School's Out Program
. The ideal candidate will have experience in program coordination, working with diverse communities, and creating inclusive, culturally responsive spaces where all children feel valued and supported.
School's Out
provides free or highly subsidized after-school and school-break programming for multi-barriered children (ages 6-12). Through engaging activities and meaningful experiences, our programs empower children to reach their full potential by focusing on five key areas:
health and wellness, social connection, skill-building, emotional development, and community service
.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, and deliver programming that aligns with the funding agreement.
Engage and support program participants while ensuring a safe, respectful, and inclusive space.
Maintain attendance records, track program outcomes, and provide required reports.
Follow Wachiay's policies, funding guidelines, and administrative procedures.
Collaborate with staff, volunteers, and community partners to enhance program delivery.
Advocate for participants by providing appropriate referrals and connections to services.
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience in program coordination, community engagement, or a related field.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan and manage schedules effectively.
Knowledge of Indigenous cultures, traditions, and community needs is an asset.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
A valid Criminal Record Check (including vulnerable sector screening) is required.
