ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Manager of Day Treatment Classrooms, the Program Coordinator of Day Treatment coordinates the daily functioning of the day treatment program. The Program Coordinator provides in class guidance and support to Child and Youth Workers (CYW) and Teachers for the implementation of classroom treatment strategies and ensures that delegated administrative tasks associated with day treatment are fulfilled. This role is responsible for planning and facilitating client admission and clinical treatment meetings as well as client group programming.

Hours of Work
: Thirty-five (35) hours per week, Monday to Friday, including providing on-call support on a rotational basis.
Salary Range
: $66,331 to $70,372
A LOOK AT YOUR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide in the moment classroom oversight to assigned CYW(s) to support daily program management and ensure quality therapeutic programming.
Act as the main point of contact for staff and teachers during client crisis situations.
Provide clinical leadership through maintaining knowledge of best practices and models used for day treatment programs (including behaviour management, crisis prevention and agency therapeutic models) to effectively meet the needs of clients.
Work closely with colleagues on other teams (e.g. Day Treatment, Child and Family Therapist, Live-in Treatment) to ensure effective collaboration between staff, impactful planning for shared clients, and coordinated services between programs.
Involved in the treatment planning for clients and families, by providing clinical guidance.
Ensure all client transportation needs are addressed and resolve any safety or other concerns using the mechanisms available.
Ensure that all client medication is administered as needed in the program in a safe and timely manner, and that any client medical issues are responded to in an efficient manner ensuring client safety.
Organize and chair client admittance and other clinical meetings.
Ensure notes on the client admittance meeting are input into EMHWare.
Fill in for the Child and Youth Workers during staff absences, and where required, performs front line job responsibilities.
Plan and facilitate treatment groups for clients.
Support and implement treatment planning in collaboration with the Child and Family Therapists.
Act as family liaison communicating regularly and being the main point of contact for any inquiries.
Oversee the daily operations of a set of day treatment classrooms, staff and clients, including the quality of treatment programming and interdisciplinary teamwork.
Liaise with the school principal, ECCP principal and community partners to ensure effective communication regarding student transition planning, safety, progress and integration.
Attend and ensures that program assessment processes are followed to determine eligibility for intensive programs and services in a timely, client-focused and solution-focused way.
Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to ensure effective communication pertaining to client treatment plan development, progress and integration.
Maintain a system of documentation and reporting that is consistent with quality assurance standards and procedures, legislation, accreditation and best practices.
Coordinate and supervise college and university student placements within the Day Treatment Program.
Participate in regular supervision with the Manager of Day Treatment Classrooms and engages in ongoing professional development as it applies to the role and agency policies.
In the manager's absence may oversee day-to-day scheduling of staff, which includes receiving sick calls, calling in relief staff with Manager approval, approving comp time when needed, and any minor or temporary changes in schedule or flexing of hours.
Assist Manager in hiring by sitting on the interview panel and training new staff.
Advise staff on adherence to all mandatory requirements, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act, agency health and safety policies and procedures (including appropriate clothing attire and footwear, fire safety, and fire extinguisher training.
Supervise student placements and volunteers.
Act as a trainer in key models, including Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), to reinforce trainings and practices decided for the program.
Perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Completion of a post-secondary diploma or degree in Child and Youth Care or Social Work.
A minimum of three (3) years' experience working in children and youth day treatment, preferably with supervision and people management experience.
Knowledge of children and youth mental health legislation and regulations, including the Child Welfare Act, education systems and other relevant legislation.
Competent in trauma-informed practice, child development, and child and youth care relational practice.
Knowledge of mental health challenges and behaviours, including the developmental stages of children and families.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including editing skills with attention to detail.
A willingness to work flexible hours and on-call support on a rotational schedule.
Competence in modelling professionalism and maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
Ability to demonstrate sound decision-making in an intensive environment.
Employs emotional intelligence to manage and co-regulate self and client during intensive situations.
Experience utilizing suicide risk assessments and intervention skills.
Demonstrates versatility in the ability to work independently and collaboratively to support agency and program goals.
Excellent organizational, solution-based problem-solving and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Experience in delivering presentations, coaching and mentoring.
Above average leadership and communication skills (oral and written).
Ability to manage group processes and group dynamics.
Demonstrated ability to function well on a team to plan, support, and collaborate around projects together.
Ability to effectively use supervision to find solutions that balance the needs of workers and teams while supporting organizational priorities and policies.
Functional technological skills (e.g., Office 360, MS Office, SharePoint, software applications).
Awareness and appreciation for the dynamics of equity issues (diversity, equity and inclusion) especially as it relates to gender, ethnicity, race, and economic status.
