Do you have a passion for horses, people, and making a difference? PARDS (Peace Area Riding for the Disabled Society) is seeking a dedicated Therapeutic Riding Program Coordinator to oversee and support our inclusive equine-assisted programs.
About the Role
The Program Coordinator ensures smooth day-to-day operation of PARDS' therapeutic and adaptive riding programs. This includes scheduling lessons, coordinating volunteers, supporting instructors, maintaining records, and ensuring all programs meet Equine Canada and CanTRA standards for safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
-Develop, schedule, and manage therapeutic riding sessions
-Liaise with clients, families, and support agencies
-Supervise and support instructors and volunteers
-Maintain accurate rider and horse records
-Assist in horse selection, conditioning, and program planning
-Uphold the welfare and safety of horses and riders
-Represent PARDS at community events and outreach initiatives
Qualifications
CanTRA Instructor Certification required
Experience in program coordination or equine-assisted activities
Strong organizational and communication skills
Knowledge of horse care, handling, and adaptive riding practices
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Current First Aid/CPR and vulnerable sector check (required)
