Job Description


Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and the Director of the Brain Repair Center, the Program Coordinator oversees the design, development, oversight, implementation and evaluation of the Neuroscience Roadshow program in the Faculty of Medicine. To increase our capacity to promote brain health throughout Nova Scotia, the BRC is developing a xe2x80x9cNeuroscience Roadshowxe2x80x9d to bring a hands-on neuroscience educational experience to high school students throughout the province. This program will be in partnership with non-profit organizations. In addition, the curriculum will be developed with support from the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (EECD).The Program Coordinator will coordinate the development, implementation, and deliverables of the BRC Neuroscience Roadshow. The candidate will liaise with all partners and stakeholders, Committee members and secondary school as required. The candidate will access and disperse BRC Neuroscience Roadshow funds as necessary to provide for needed project resources.
Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all elements of management, design, implementation of the BRC Neuroscience Roadshow.
  • Provide regular updates to the project team and communicate other items as they arise to project team members.
  • Supervise tasks and deliverables to implement the project.
  • Coordination of promotion of the project through media, websites and partner sites in the high school districts.
  • Ensure engagement with the partners.
Note
Required Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in Education with five years of experience in related field, including developing, training and coordinating educational programs.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, act resourcefully, and think creatively and critically to solve complex problems.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethical conduct including records management, privacy, and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Excel and Word.
Assets
  • Experience working in high schools.
  • Knowledge of the current guidelines and policies of Dalhousie University.
