The Opportunity




DIVERSEcity Community Resources Society is currently seeking applications from qualified candidates for a Full-time position for the role of Program Coordinator Future Leaders Youth Employment Program in Surrey, BC. Reporting to the Manager, Youth Employment Programs, this Program Coordinator is responsible for activities that support the coordination and overall delivery of the Future Leaders program. Future Leaders is a federally funded (Employment and Skills Development Canada (ESDC) - Youth Employment Skills Strategy (YESS) initiative that supports youth, ages 15-30 in their journey toward employability skill enhancement and career success. Key components of the program include cohort-based and 1-1 support from experienced Employment Specialists to support youth job seeking participants with:

Career exploration and job search skills Industry-recognised short-term training certifications Enrolment in accredited post-secondary programs Quality employment opportunities with wage subsidies for employers
Provision of financial supports including program and activity completion bonuses

Key Responsibilities



Provide assistance to the Manager and Employment Specialists in all aspects of their work in providing the activities and services associated with the program Conduct initial participant intakes to assess participant needs and eligibility in order to refer to the appropriate team members and/or external resources. Independently conduct outreach in the community to attract new youth participants in creative and effective ways and help promote the program to strategic community partners. Take detailed notes during meetings to ensure accurate record-keeping and follow-up of program and staff tasks and activities. Offer participants information on available life and employability services and make referrals to appropriate internal and external community resources. Build and maintain relationships with relevant community service providers to enhance program referrals and partnerships. Plan, organise and attend events, such as forums, job fairs, and other community engagement activities, to promote program services and support integration. Establish and maintain an inventory of community resources and services available to participants. Work closely with other program staff and stakeholders to identify emerging needs and develop responsive service strategies. Schedule, monitor, and oversee volunteers/practicum students working within the program and provide support to their training plans in tandem with the Program Manager. Facilitate effective coordination and communication within the team to ensure seamless service and support delivery. Report Administration: Assist the Manager in compiling and tracking program data for internal and funder-related reports and ensure compliance with funder/contract directives ad deadlines; effectively maintain relevant participant program and participant data in DIVERSEcity's CRM, and maintain accurate financial records and outcome data in any required program trackers.

Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications



Diploma in a related human/social services field, with preference given to those with a Career Development Practitioner background. Minimum of two years of relevant experience in project coordination, administration, volunteer management, and working with youth, immigrant, or other vulnerable populations, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Strong understanding of workforce integration, and immigrant and settlement issues and the challenges faced by youth and immigrant job seekers. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Exceptional organisational and time management skills. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multicultural team setting. Knowledge of community resources and ability to build and maintain partnerships. Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines. Strong computer literacy skills, including proficiency with MS Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, internet research, Canva, Doodle Poll, and social media.
