Program Coordinator II / Community Support Worker

at our 64th Day Program site in

Delta

. This permanent full-time position is a

dual role job

: 21-hours (3 days) per week as a Program Coordinator II and 14-hours (2 days) per week as a Community Support Worker. Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. This position requires union membership.

Compensation:



Program Coordinator II: $33.77 per hour Community Support Worker: $25.95 per hour Benefits include Extended Health and Dental and participation in the Municipal Pension Plan

About the Opportunity:



In this dual role job of Program Coordinator II / Community Support Worker, you will provide both supervision and frontline support at a community inclusion day program in Delta.

The Program Coordinator II plans, develops and oversees the day-to-day operations of the program including:

Schedules, supervises and evaluates staff and monitors daily operations; Assists in recruiting and selecting of staff and provides guidance, training and orientation on policies, procedures, techniques, report preparation and other matters arising in the program; Fosters positive and professional relationships with coworkers and staff. Participates in training and/or providing work direction to staff, program participants, volunteers and practicum students; Identifies the needs of staff for professional development; Ensures that individuals served actively participate in the development of their own outcomes; and ensure the emotional and physical well being of the individuals; Provides leadership, guidance and participates with staff, families and others in planning and providing client plans, case conferencing, case management and the preparation of related documents and reports.
As a Community Support Worker, you will be actively engaging supported individuals to live a fulfilling and independent life. You are a motivated and personable individual with a passion to deliver person-centered supports. This means you could be helping an individual to discover more of their community, learn new life skills such as cooking, physical fitness activities, art classes, or seeking employment. You assist with their physical, social, emotional, educational and recreational needs. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Following an individual care plan, Developing monthly plans and facilitating activities based on client's interests, Documenting activities and observations in the client's file and communication log, Physically assist individuals with activities such as swimming and walking. Must be physically healthy to aid in lifting and transferring of persons served and be able to provide personal care including toileting and grooming.

Qualifications:



Degree/diploma in a field related to Human Sciences Practical experience working with developmental and physical disabilities Strong leadership and supervisory skills including the demonstrated ability to develop performance of team members through goal setting and feedback, as well as the ability to mediate and problem solve. Practices good organizational, coordination, administration, time management and budgeting skills. Class 4 Driver's License FOODSAFE Level 1 Emergency First Aid & CPR
