At Community Care Durham (CCD), coordinated networks of volunteers and inter-professional staff, working out of integrated community hubs and other locations, strive to enrich the well-being and quality of life for people wherever they choose to call home. As the largest community support services agency in Durham Region, CCD collaborates with its partners and the broader community to address community issues and support local citizens to achieve their goals to live independently.
Reporting to the Program Supervisor, the Program Associate is based primarily out of the Port Perry office and plays a key role in supporting the delivery of Community Supports programs in North Durham (Scugog, Uxbridge, and Brock). This position is responsible for assisting with program coordination, client service delivery, administrative duties, and communication with clients, volunteers, and other team members.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Places and collects orders, receives meals from vendor, and reconciles invoices;
Organizes and prepares the route sheets to assist volunteers with delivery;
Coordinates footcare clinic when needed (sterilization, ordering supplies, providing administration support to Foot Care Nurses, booking future appointments, entering Footcare visits in CCD database, and collect and submit Footcare nurse invoice;
May be required to deliver meals as needed;
Acts as a volunteer contact for meal pick up and packing;
Provides support with site and program specific volunteer orientation and training;
Addresses immediate volunteer concerns regarding clients and provides follow-up with Contact Centre Representatives;
Addresses volunteer concerns with coordinators;
Submits orders for Personal Protective Equipment and program supplies.
Must be able to multi-task, prioritize and mange work flow performing admin tasks such as entering client information for billing in database, tracking frozen food inventory and performing appliance temperature checks,
Qualifications required:
Post-secondary education in Hospitality, Nutrition and Food Services, Medical Office Administration, Gerontology, a related field, or a combination of education and experience
1 year of experience in customer service-related role
Tech savvy with experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.,)
Comfortability working in a hands-on environment
Strong communication and organizational skills
Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. (bona fide occupational requirement)
Has a valid Ontario Drivers "G" License and access to vehicle
Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check
Sensitivity to adults with needs related to aging, physical and/or mental health
Must work in a safe manner and promote the health and safety of all staff, volunteers, clients and the community as outlined within CCD policies
Compensation:
Starting at $21 per hour; with 6% vacation pay
Pay will be commensurate based on education and experience
