Job Description

Overall Position Mandate:

The overall goal is to significantly contribute to the ongoing success of the BGC Prince County by ensuring excellent, quality, innovative programs are being offered to children and youth. The primary objective is to support the Program Director and Program Team in overseeing the successful implementation and supervision of Club programs at BGC Prince County, ensuring adherence to operating standards and regulations. This entails coordinating program activities, maintaining compliance with licensing regulations, and promoting a safe and enriching environment for children and youth.

Key Position Objectives:

Program Implementation & Supervision

The goal is to work with the Program Director and Program Team in creating and implementing Club programs and ensure established programs are being run in accordance with BGC Prince County operating standards. The overall goal of the Club is to provide a safe, supportive environment where children and youth can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships and develop confidence and skills for life. This will be achieved by:

Support the Program Director in Club programs & activities; Maintain compliance of ELCC licensing regulations, including fire drills, inspections and OH&S; Collecting WCB reports and submitting accordingly; Providing program schedules for breakfast program, after school, evening and summer programs; Maintaining registration in collaboration with the Administrative Assistant and Program Director; Reviewing leave requests, updating schedule and responding to requests in a timely manner; Evaluate program activities to achieve successful outcomes; Effectively scheduling staff in the appropriate program rooms, ensuring that staff follow schedules accordingly; Updating resources and ensuring program rooms are in compliance with Early Learning & Childcare and BGC Prince County operating standards; Submit payroll hours; o Ensuring supplies and equipment needed for programmed activities are available and within budget; Ensuring action plans are created and followed for events; Carrying out events and special activities.

Supervision

The goal is to assist the Program Team in supervision of Club programs

Monitor performance of staff when supervising programs; Prepare staff schedules in Club Programs; Monitoring Breakfast, After School, Summer Day Camp and Evening Program activities to ensure quality; Following human resources policies, procedures and practices of the BGC Prince County;

Additional Duties

Following all actions required as a member of the Health & Safety Committee; Communicating health and safety policies to staff, volunteers and children and youth; Assisting with the operation of summer and school breaks; Special projects and other responsibilities as determined by your manager.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in supervising staff and volunteers in a youth-oriented environment, demonstrating initiative and proactive problem-solving abilities; Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and effectively convey information; Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams/groups showing initiative in fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment; Familiarly with BGC Prince County practices and procedures, with a demonstrated ability to adapt and take initiative in implementing best practices; Commitment to the mission and values of BGC Prince County, and a proactive approach to promoting and advancing organizational goals. Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office products.

Working Conditions:

This position is a vital part of our program team and responsible for ensuring all programs and their activities are being run in accordance with the mission and the goals of the Club. In order to do this, a flexible approach to the work schedule is needed in this role. Occasional weekend and evening work will be required.

Pay: From $24.00 per hour
