Responsibilities:




Oversee and coordinate various programs supporting local and regional projects in Nunavik, particularly initiatives focused on climate change adaptation and mitigation, environmental monitoring, and access to potable water. Develop, design, and distribute clear and accessible project application forms, guidelines, and reporting templates for communities and local organizations. Manage the entire program application process, including receipt, review, and organization of submissions in a structured database. Conduct preliminary screening and evaluation of project applications to ensure completeness and compliance with program criteria. Prepare detailed summaries, analyses, and recommendations for review committees composed of internal staff, community representatives, and external experts. Facilitate fair and transparent review and decision-making processes for funding applications. Communicate program decisions and feedback to applicants in a timely, respectful, and professional manner. Maintain close communication with Nunavik organizations, communities, and other stakeholders to provide technical assistance and respond to inquiries. Support applicants throughout the project lifecycle, including proposal development, application completion, and reporting requirements. Collaborate with the DEWR team and the Finance Department to monitor program budgets, track expenditures, and ensure financial accountability. Contribute to reporting and documentation of program outcomes, challenges, and successes for internal and external purposes. Participate in departmental meetings, planning sessions, and community engagement activities to strengthen program delivery and alignment with Makivvik's strategic objectives. Perform other related duties as required by the Assistant Director. Be available to travel, as requested.



Qualifications:




Minimum of a College Diploma in administration, environmental studies, or a related field. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in administrative support, program coordination, or secretarial work. Experience with project management, funding applications, and report writing. Experience working directly with Nunavik communities or other Arctic regions is a significant asset. Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and Zoom. Understanding of Inuit culture, values, and history, particularly within the Nunavik context. Fluency in English and Inuktitut required; French considered an asset. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with community members, government officials, and technical experts. Attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to transparency and accountability. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Adaptability and willingness to travel to Nunavik communities as required. Security clearance is required.
