Position Summary:
Reporting to the Administrative Officer, administer academic (including but not limited to teacher education) programs and department-based graduate student progression and follow-up (admission to graduation) in consultation with Student Advisors and Program Directors. Perform and organize activities to support administration of student affairs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Administer the academic programs including but not limited to Bachelor of Education (Bed) and Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning (MATL).
  • In collaboration with the teacher education team, implement new processes for academic activities; participate in the development of new online forms and processes.
  • Oversee set up and administration of online course evaluations; download and organize data (for cross-listing of course sections).
  • Oversee implementation of new professional teaching competencies across courses in teacher education programs.
  • Follow-ups with regards to research proposals and new initiatives specific to teacher education (e.g., PIF, Indigenous education, Media, and digital technology).
  • Oversee the planning of meetings, conferences, luncheons, orientations, and special events specific to academic programs.
  • Liaise with other University units and Support unit reporting and compliance obligations to various internal and external stakeholders. (Ministry of Education).
  • Provide administrative support to Administrative Officer as needed Participate in special projects as needed Provide back-up support to Undergraduate and Teacher Education Program Committee (UTEPC) as needed. Record and distribute minutes.
  • Provide back-up support for class scheduling process as needed.
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

A Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree is preferred. Relevant administration experience within an educational setting is required. Experience administering educational programs is an asset. Must be able to demonstrate a high level of initiative, attention to detail, independence, and critical thinking skills in solving problems. Possesses strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a collaborative team environment and interact positively an effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Knowledge of University policies and procedures and is an asset. Proficiency with Microsoft suite, database design/management (Microsoft Access, Crystal Reports), spreadsheets, electronic correspondence, Web, and online communications tools.

Knowledge of French and English. McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing.

Minimum Education and Experience: DEC III 3 Years Related Experience /

Hourly Salary: (MUNACA Level H) $33.05 - $40.97

Hours per Week: 33.75 (Full time)
