About Our Opportunity
As the Sport and Recreation Lead, you will work with and report to the Manager of Sport and Recreation in the Community, Sport and Recreation Division. You will coordinate programs, services and collaborate on policies and strategies that support the sport and recreation sector in Nova Scotia.

As the lead, you will work horizontally across government to ensure your work is aligned with key government priorities such as Nova Scotia\'s Action Plan in Response to the International Decade for People of African Descent, the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action, the \'Let\'s Get Moving\' Strategy and the work of the Accessibility Directorate.
Primary Accountabilities
You will lead and collaborate on the planning, development, administration and evaluation of provincial policies, strategies and programs that aim to support and expand the capacity of the sport and recreation delivery systems. You will also provide guidance, support and expertise to provincial and national organizations, branch staff, other government departments, municipalities, and communities in the development of sport and recreation policies, plans, and initiatives.
You will lead/coordinate and participate in appropriate committees and initiatives that advance the promotion and delivery of recreation and sport opportunities. You will also work to advance Nova Scotia\'s implementation of the Framework for Recreation in Canada, through the Shared Strategy for Advancing Recreation in Nova Scotia and the implementation of the Canadian Sport Policy
