Position to commence August 14, 2023.

Salary range: $66,555.00 - $115,378

Specific Accountabilities:

The Professor will be responsible for providing academic leadership and for developing an effective environment through the design and revision of programs and courses, defining and evaluating learning outcomes, developing appropriate teaching and learning environments, and developing / selecting appropriate learning materials. You will be expected to support student learning and progress, as well as create assessments, rubrics, and evaluate student achievement.

Participating in the work of curriculum, program advisory and other committees, and keeping current in your field through consultation with business and industry representatives are essential components of these positions.

You will champion the development of customized training and educational programs in collaboration with public and private sector partners. Program promotion and student recruitment are essential areas of responsibility.

Qualifications:

• Active TSSA 1st or 2nd Class Operating Engineer Certificate required
• Advanced Engineering Technology Diploma or Degree in a related field
• Seven years of related experience in your respective field
• Current knowledge in the following areas: WHMIS, TDG, plant safety, protective equipment, and fire protection, process drawing fundamentals, steam traps, relief valves, piping systems, and lubrication system pumps, air compressors, steam turbines and engines, gas turbines, internal combustion engines, rotating electrical motors, generators and petroleum refining principles and processes.
• Teaching or training, industry experience and the desire to contribute to the education of the next generation of process engineers.
• Applicants must have the ability to be an effective role model in an educational setting and function effectively in a team environment.
• Successful candidates must be passionate about teaching and will demonstrate a commitment and capacity for teaching excellence, student engagement, scholarly activity, and campus citizenship.
• The ideal candidate will think broadly, celebrate diversity of thought, and respect the uniqueness of individuals. You can demonstrate an ability to engage learners in positive and supportive manner and possess a commitment to lifelong learning and professional integrity.
• Candidates must be excellent communicators, possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to relate effectively to a wide variety of learners. Candidates who demonstrate knowledge or competency in the following academic skills and abilities will be given preference: curriculum design; instructional design and delivery; active, collaborative learning techniques; effective assessment and evaluation of learning; and appropriate use of technology for teaching and learning.
