Applications are invited for the position of Professor, Dental, in the School of Allied Health Studies located at the Welland Campus.


Reporting to the Associate Dean of the School of Allied Health, this exciting role requires the successful candidate to provide an invitational learning environment to deliver a variety of specialist courses in the Dental Hygiene, Dental Assisting and Dental Office Administration programs.


The Professor position is responsible for providing academic leadership and developing an effective learning environment for students. The successful candidate should aspire to provide academic excellence in the learning environment, thus enabling our students to achieve success in their careers. This includes designing, revising and updating programs, courses and curriculum; teaching assigned courses; defining and evaluating student comprehension of objectives; utilizing a variety of instructional resources and methods; providing individualized instruction where necessary and consulting with stakeholders to ensure relevance and currency of programs in alignment with community and industry partners. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Required qualifications:



Diploma in Dental Hygiene Registered Dental Hygienist in good standing with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario Relevant undergraduate degree or higher Minimum of five (5) years full-time, practical and clinical experience as a Registered Dental Hygienist Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills Proven ability to work in a team environment and to foster / support the same with students and colleagues Demonstrated networking/relationship building and liaison abilities Evidence of commitment to student success and academic excellence Post secondary teaching or training experience

Preferred candidates may also possess:



CDA II designation Membership in ODHA and/or CDHA and/ or ODAA Experience in curriculum design and development Practical experience with learning management systems
