Position Summary

Cambrian College's School of Health Sciences and Emergency Services requires a full-time Professor to teach within the Dental Assisting program beginning November 2025 (Cambrian's academic year consists of three semesters and this role will be required to deliver courses during the summer months.)

Duties and Responsibilities

Instruct students in clinical and academic dental assisting programing, ensuring their readiness to work as oral health care providers and to perform a variety of roles in clinical practice environments, education and health promotion.

Qualifications

Required:

Must have completed or be working toward a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Health Sciences or Education. (A copy of education documents must be submitted with application.)*
Must be a Certified Level II Dental Assistant in good standing with the Ontario Dental Assistants Association. Minimum of five years of clinical experience as a Dental Assistant. Must have training in educational theory and methodology. Ability to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others. Ability to provide leadership and mentorship and be an effective role model in the classroom. Ability to utilize creative teaching approaches and current and emerging teaching and learning strategies to enhance student progress. Excellent written communication skills and exceptional interpersonal skills. Strong computer literacy with respect to standard office software packages and spreadsheets. Effective critical thinking and organizational skills and the ability to function effectively within a team environment.

Additional Assets/Preferred:

Teaching experience at the postsecondary level.
