The School of Climate Action is seeking a part-time professor to teach in the Biotechnology - Advanced program. We are specifically hiring for the following course:


Course: INST 10000 - Biochemical Process Instrumentation

Course Description:



Investigate process instrumentation for monitoring and control of industrial chemical and biochemical processes. Control variables include flow, temperature, pressure, pH, time and dissolved oxygen.


What you'll be doing:




The duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

In-person delivery of Biochemical Process Instrumentation course (INST 10000) in Winter 2026. Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. Deliver lecture and lab content using a variety of teaching strategies including in-person, online, and experiential learning. Evaluate student achievement using diverse assessment methods. Apply Universal Design for Learning principles and intercultural competence in course delivery. Revise and adapt curriculum based on student feedback and industry trends. Support applied research initiatives where applicable.

What you'll bring to the role:



Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Process Engineering, or a closely related field. Relevant industry experience in biochemical or chemical process operations, instrumentation, and control systems. Strong understanding of process variables such as flow, temperature, pressure, pH, dissolved oxygen, and time. Familiarity with industrial instrumentation technologies, sensors, and control strategies. Knowledge of bioprocessing applications in fermentation, downstream processing, or pharmaceutical/biotech manufacturing. Teaching experience at the post-secondary level is an asset. Proficiency with online learning platforms (e.g., Teams, LMS). Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and reconciliation.
