The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team facilitates and advances person-centered care through evidence-based professional practice and learning strategies and programs that are designed provincially and implemented locally to enhance collaborative learning and practice. The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team takes a leadership role in creating a culture of collaboration with a focus on team-based care, evidence-informed practice, and learning and professional development to improve health outcomes for patients, families and communities. Through strong partnerships with the academic sector, regulators, and government, the Interprofessional Practice and Learning team has an integral role in influencing and operationalizing health system priorities.

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Zone IPPL Director, and working in partnership with the Senior Director, and the IPPL Provincial Leadership Team, the Professional Practice Leader (PPL) takes a leadership role in facilitating and promoting a culture of excellence in quality person centred care and advancing interprofessional practice and learning priorities that support clinical transformation for the achievement of collaborative and professional practice to improve health outcomes. Working closely with Senior leaders, Directors, Managers, and Clinical leadership teams, the PPL takes a collaborative leadership role in fostering a culture of learning with a focus on clinical practice, clinical leadership, inter/intra professional collaboration, transition to practice, practice progression, profession-specific and interprofessional education and the development, implementation and evaluation of a model for inter/intra professional practice and standards consistent with health professional regulatory bodies and associations, and aligned within research, innovation and discovery. The PPL serves as a consultant to the organization with respect to the practice environment, practice improvements, clinical standardization, workforce optimization, emerging evidence and addressing professional practice issues at the individual, team, program of care, clinical network and system level. The PPL works with all members of the interprofessional team to promote evidence based practice, reflecting best practices and a culture of patient centred care.

This is a zone position and can be aligned with any of the sites in the Eastern Zone. Travel required across the zone.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Beyond entry to practice education in health profession at Master\'s level or higher relevant to interprofessional practice and Learning (i.e. Master of Education). Consideration will be given to qualified candidates currently enrolled in a Master\'s program or with equivalent education and practice experience required
  • Current registration with the relevant college/association required
  • A minimum of three (3) years progressive leadership experience required (i.e., previous management and/or demonstrated leadership experience in an advanced practice role as Clinical Nurse Specialist, Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Educator or Professional Practice Coordinator)
  • A minimum of five (5) years clinical experience in related health professional discipline with operational or practice leadership experience required
  • Demonstrated experience in initiating & managing multiple projects
  • Demonstrated success in working with teams and team development
  • Demonstrated aptitude for progressive. creative and innovative thinking
  • Demonstrated experience with designing, implementing and evaluating traditional and nontraditional education programming; inclusive of developing learning objectives
  • Possesses a vision of person centred care
  • Demonstrated success in leading change
  • Experience in a unionized environment preferred
  • Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to work collaboratively with professional and community individuals with high level of judgment, creativity, diplomacy, discretion and confidentiality

  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Salary Information

$43.91 - $58.34 hourly
$85,620 - $113,763 annually
