What we are looking for:

The Clinical Informatics Specialist will provide leadership in all aspects of clinical information systems and ensure that health information technology and applications support safe and efficient patient care. Key responsibilities include planning, development, implementation, education, evaluation and support. Relationship management across diverse stakeholder groups is an essential skill and accountability. The successful candidate will engage stakeholders in implementing processes to meet regulatory standards and industry benchmarks, analyze and manage adoption and change processes, including risk mitigation strategies. The successful candidate\xe2\x80\x99s leadership, professionalism, diplomacy, and continuous improvement will be evident as they collaborate with stakeholders to provide excellent customer service, identify system solutions, and support end-users.

Reporting to the Manager of Professional Practice, the Clinical Informatics Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining education materials, delivering training and providing ongoing support for Meditech and other Oak Valley Health supported clinical applications. Through participation on committees, working groups and project teams, the Clinical Informatics Specialist collaborates with others to support projects, process improvement, and mandated initiatives, focusing on system optimization, uptake of best practices, and adoption of supported clinical applications. The Clinical Informatics Specialist will serve as a liaison between providers and IMIT professionals to facilitate a common understanding of clinical informatics across multidisciplinary teams. The Clinical Information Specialist will be responsible for active participation in and/or leading relevant committees.

What you bring to the role:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in a health discipline
  • Clinical experience and/or a Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in a related health care field (i.e. Health Informatics, Nursing, Health Administration) an asset.
  • Minimum of 5 years hospital-based clinical experience
  • Recent clinical informatics knowledge and experience, ideally MEDITECH Expanse clinical software
  • Demonstrated advanced computer skills and experience working with a variety of clinical applications focused in a hospital setting
  • Excellent understanding of technical, integration and clinical business requirements of delivering health information solutions
  • Experience in providing consultative services for application systems, as well as managing a positive customer relationship with clinicians and project teams
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation, practice standards, and best practice guidelines
  • Proven experience teaching and supporting clinicians in the use of electronic clinical applications coupled with effective leadership, decision-making, communication, organizational and problem solving skills
  • Ability to combine clinical experience, best practice and software knowledge to provide effective education, support and input on organizational initiatives
  • Uses effective leadership, facilitation, persuasion and negotiation abilities to achieve consensus, resolve conflict and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Demonstrated effective organizational, research, data analysis skills, time management and priority setting skills in accomplishing assigned work deliverables in a dynamic climate of competing demands
  • Demonstrated ability to function both autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
  • Basic understanding of data, clinical information and how these are operationalized within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) to create knowledge.
  • Experience in providing guidance and support to clinical users of electronic systems to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of the systems within patient care
  • Demonstrated ability to create and execute plans and ensure timelines are met while working with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Exercises initiative, self-direction and critical thinking abilities to identity gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintains a results-oriented attitude to continually improve processes, enhance efficiency and contribute to overall clinical and organizational success.
  • Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards
  • Demonstrated a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required
Work Schedule:

The successful candidate will work Monday \xe2\x80\x93 Friday. Schedules may change due to operational needs.

Compensation:

BAND H: $42.33 - $60.59
