We are seeking a skilled Professional Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. A Professional Mechanical Engineer's responsibilities include, but are not limited to Mechanical Engineers research, design, and develop machinery and systems for transportation, processing, and manufacturing. They also performs duties related to the evaluation, installation, operation and maintenance of mechanical systems. Must possess an understanding of manufacturing and assembly practices and procedures. Must be able to receive and provide direction and interface with project leaders, managers, and the engineering team. Maintaining meeting and communication notes within the project file and documenting studies and reports. Travel to project sites for field walk-throughs and inspections of existing systems, supports, and structures to inform designs for new projects, and changes within layouts, as well as potential tie-ins. Verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members, answer questions regarding project designs & details and respond to customer request.
Duties
Conduct research into the feasibility, design, operation and performance of mechanisms, components, and systems.
Plan and manage projects, and prepare material estimates, reports and design specification for machinery and systems.
Design components and equipment.
Analyze dynamics and vibrations of mechanical systems and structures.
Supervise and inspect the installation, modification, and commissioning of mechanical systems at construction sites or in industrial facilities.
Investigate mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance problems.
Supervise technicians, technologists, and other engineers to review and approve designs, calculations, and estimates.
Complete the design calculations required to produce a safe and functional product.
Review, certify and stamp engineering drawings and documents.
Advanced drawing and editing functions within CAD programs.
Producing assembly & detail drawings and studies using standard drawing practices, customer specifications and industry standards.
Experience
Must have a university degree in Mechanical Engineering and be currently licensed with the regulatory authority within a province and have two (2) years experience.
Our engineers also complete design and detail drawings using CAD Software.
AutoCAD-2D/3DE & Autodesk Inventor knowledge and experience are assets.
Understanding of mechanical systems design principles and practices.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey technical information effectively.
