Overview

We are a clean and modern tattoo & piercing shop, that has been in business since 2016, and recently relocated from Vancouver, B.C. We are located in the heart of the Junction district, in a great neighborhood, with amazing neighbors. We are looking for a permanent professional body piercer to join our team, that has a MINIMUM of 1 year worth of experience in a reputable shop, and able to do any body piercing, safely and to top standards, unsupervised.

Applicant must be presentable, and have a friendly, and easy-going personality. We serve anyone from families with children, to bikers, to doctors & lawyers, so being a chameleon is key. PUNCTUALITY and RELIABILITY are the 2 HUGE key things I look for. You'll be working alongside with myself, (Jacob) the owner, and head tattoo artist.

We are also a tattoo & piercing SCHOOL, so there WILL be the opportunity to TEACH as well, and even get an apprenticeship to tattoo IF interested. There is a LOT of opportunity here, to make $$$ and have a stable, fun, relaxed workplace, for the RIGHT person.

Duties

Performing all basic body piercings in a safe and professional manner, up to and/or above industry standards. Consulting with clients, and assisting with paperwork, and informing/educating them as needed. Setup and breakdown of personal workstation, as well as sanitation and sterilization of tools and equipment. Keeping track of stock, and communicating with shop regarding required jewelry and supplies needed on a daily basis. Working front desk, greeting customers, answering calls, taking messages, booking appointments, organizing calendar, answering emails. General shop cleaning and maintenance. Running occasional local errands for supplies as needed. Potentially teaching students in body piercing course.

Qualifications

A MINIMUM of 1 year working as a professional body piercer, in a reputable shop. Ability to do all/any body piercings, unsupervised, up to and/or beyond universal standards. Basic computer skills, and use of simple software such as Word, Excel, Photoshop. (NOT essential, but a bonus, will train if needed) Be presentable, and approachable by all kinds of clients. Well groomed, and personable. Friendly, and accommodating. Customer service skills MUST be absolutely top notch, as it's part of our shop's reputation. Experience with CAD software or SketchUp for 3D modeling is an advantage. Absolute punctuality, and reliability! These are no compromise essentials! If you can't be here on time, or early, and like to call in, and/or miss days you're scheduled for, this will not be a good fit. We need someone to ALWAYS be here when needed, rain or shine, unless on your death bed. Ability to communicate clearly and in a friendly manner in English. If your language skills are lacking, this job won't be appropriate, as it's not an industry that allows errors or miscommunications. People's health and safety are at risk, and we take ZERO chances with others' well beings. A portfolio showcasing your previous work, showcasing all basic piercings, with good placement, and attention to detail. (A pre-existing client base you can bring here would be a MASSIVE advantage in your favor when we select a candidate)
