Position Summary
La Cite universitaire francophone (La Cite) at the University of Regina is seeking to fill a 2-year term, with the possibility of permanence, Assistant Professor in Literature with expertise in communication or media studies.
La Cite is a French degree granting academic unit at the University of Regina. La Cite's mission is to provide French and bilingual university education to Saskatchewan's Francophones, whatever their first language. La Cite plays an active role in the cultural, linguistic and professional development of the Fransaskois community by offering credit and non-credit courses and programs.

La Cite universitaire francophone (La Cite) de l'Universite de Regina cherche a pourvoir un poste de professeur adjoint en litterature avec une expertise en communication ou en etudes des medias pour un mandat de deux ans, avec possibilite de permanence.
La Cite est une unite academique francophone de l'Universite de Regina qui offre des diplomes universitaires. La mission de La Cite est d'offrir une formation universitaire en francais et bilingue aux francophones de la Saskatchewan, quelle que soit leur langue maternelle. La Cite joue un role actif dans le developpement culturel, linguistique et professionnel de la communaute fransaskoise en offrant des cours et des programmes credites et non credites.
Position Requirements
La Cite seeks applications with a strong commitment to high-quality undergraduate and graduate teaching and research.
In this position, you will be expected to actively contribute to your field of research, teach a variety of courses in French, and actively participate in administrative service. The successful candidate will teach courses in Franco-Canadian literature and have an opportunity to develop courses or programs in the areas of communication and media studies, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. As a member of our faculty, you will be expected to have an active research dossier in the field of literature. A research dossier in communication/media studies is an asset.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development of bilingual programming, in collaboration with other University faculties. It is intended to augment current program offerings in French at La Cite. Experience teaching online courses to serve all Francophone and Francophile students of the province is an asset.

La Cite s'engage a offrir un enseignement et une recherche de haute qualite aux etudiants de premier cycle et aux etudiants diplomes.
A ce poste, vous devrez contribuer activement a votre domaine de recherche, enseigner divers cours en francais et participer activement aux services administratifs. Le candidat retenu donnera des cours sur la litterature franco-canadienne et aura l'occasion d'elaborer des cours ou des programmes dans les domaines de la communication et des etudes mediatiques, tant au premier qu'au deuxieme cycle. En tant que membre de notre corps professoral, vous devrez avoir un dossier de recherche actif dans le domaine de la litterature. Un dodossier de recherche en communication/medias est un atout.
Il s'agit d'une occasion passionnante de diriger le developpement de programmes bilingues, en collaboration avec d'autres facultes de l'universite. L'objectif est d'elargir l'offre actuelle de programmes en francais a La Cite. Une experience dans l'enseignement de cours en ligne est un atout afin de servir tous les etudiants francophones et francophiles de la province.
Required qualifications:
  • PhD in francophone literature or a related field with an active research dossier.
  • Experience teaching a variety of francophone literature courses.
  • Experience teaching courses related to media studies and/or communication.
  • Ability to conduct research projects on Franco-Canadian literature in minority communities, particularly in Western Canada.
  • Ability to conduct research in their secondary area of expertise is an asset.
  • Ability to contribute to the development of bilingual programs at the University of Regina.
  • Teaching experience; experience in online teaching and course development.
  • Excellent command of French; good knowledge of English.
Profil recherche:
  • Doctorat en litterature francophone ou dans un domaine connexe avec un dossier de recherche actif.
  • Experience dans l'enseignement de divers cours de litterature francophone.
  • Experience dans l'enseignement de cours lies aux etudes des medias et/ou a la communication.
  • Capacite a mener des projets de recherche sur la litterature franco-canadienne dans les communautes minoritaires, en particulier dans l'Ouest canadien.
  • Capacite a mener des recherches dans son domaine d'expertise secondaire (atout).
  • Capacite a contribuer au developpement de programmes bilingues a l'Universite de Regina.
  • Experience en enseignement ; experience en enseignement en ligne et en developpement de cours.
  • Excellente maitrise du francais ; bonne connaissance de l'anglais.
