About the Position
ADM Animal Nutrition is a leading manufacturing, nutrition and ingredient business offering a wide range of innovative products for the animal nutrition market. We are currently seeking a Quality Technician at our Woodstock, Ontario facility. This position will support the quality programs, work closely with the Quality Supervisor and be responsible for the daily Quality release process. The role will also be responsible for the NIR ingredient scanning, building the finished product database and NIR library updates. The position will help to improve and streamline quality functions with the goal of continuous improvement. The Quality Technician will provide backup to the Quality Supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities
Daily Product Release
  • Review daily inventory reconciliation for all ingredients
  • Verify product yields, scale checks, sequencing and flushing records
  • Review, record and store product samples daily
  • Review magnet samples and log findings
  • Maintain finished product sample standards board in lab
Incoming Ingredients Monitoring
  • Maintain ingredient sample standards board in lab
  • Perform NIR ingredient scans
  • Complete ingredient CoA verification
  • Maintain annual ingredient sampling program and log in database
  • Perform mycotoxin testing on ingredients
HACCP Support
  • Support training of SOP\xe2\x80\x99s and maintain training grid
  • Support investigations into production deviations and customer complaints
Lab Sample Submissions
  • Prepare samples and submission forms for outgoing lab samples
  • Review results and release product as required for customers\xe2\x80\x99 products that are on positive release programs or ingredient monitoring programs. Record results as required by customer programs
  • Maintain trending data

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships and to communicate with all levels of the organization and customers
  • Well organized and have the ability to multi-task effectively in a busy work environment with frequent interruptions and competing priorities
  • Possess an extremely strong attention to detail and deliver high-quality results
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, and comfortable working with a large variety of programs and systems
  • Ability to research available data for understanding and solutions
  • Ability to make decisions based on information and data available
  • Desire to see continuous improvement in processes and programs
  • Understand and apply Company policy, procedure, best practices and applicable law while consulting with managers, to reduce risk to the Company
  • Respect for confidential and privileged information
Education or Work Experience
  • The successful candidate will ideally have post-secondary education in a related filed and an understanding of Quality Assurance and/or a minimum of 3 years related experience in the agriculture or food industry
Additional Information
  • History of working safely and a reputation for promoting and getting involved in safety improvement efforts
  • Understands and is accountable for full compliance with safety and other EHS requirements
  • This position does not qualify for remote work. The successful candidate will be required to work onsite
